didn't you already post about this?

since that bike supposedly makes it LESS of a workout to go a couple miles, I guess my Huffy is so much better. makes me work so much harder, which is the point of biking.

biking is supposed to be hard. running is supposed to be harder.....

You still get the same workout you just go a lot faster on something like that.

Do we have haters in the building? hahah Its ok Id be jealous too :) Yea I posted earlier bout it, but I just got my new Zipp wheels and they are so sick!!
Tamestang said it best, your workout depends on how far you are willing to push yourself. I dont think you'd be praising your huffy if you went on a group ride with us and your trying to skip along at 33-34mph on flat ground. You'd be a little behind to say the least ;) I dont think you ever rode your huffy for 75 miles straight either.....

They are zipp speed weaponry 606s. Got the big 82mm aero wheel out back with the 58mm aero front. They use dimple technology, ya know the golf ball theory. Its pretty cool, spinning the cranks stationary to get the back wheel spinning, you can feel the air being pushed around the tire and wheel. Its pretty sick. I rode on them today, and they put about 3.5 mph onto my average speed. Plus, they are tubular, so I gotta use carbon carbon brakes, and they weigh over a pound less than my easton circuit wheelset that I train on. My big 61cm bike weighs in at 15.6 lbs, with pedals. I could go lighter on the bar, stem, cranks, and rear wheel, but who the hell would need to. Besides, lighter=more flexible=bad for a big guy.

Im getting into this training thing, hell, ive rode a bicycle more than a dirtbike lately. Oh well, Im in good shape, can't complain....

You and my stepdad should ride. He puts more miles on a bike than he does on his truck he has and that is no lie!

I was of the mindset at one time that spending a lot of money on a bike was goofy, that it didn't really make that much of a difference. But then lately I have had teh pleasure, thanaks to Mad Duck Adventure Sports, of riding a Yetti AS-R ($5000) and a Yetti 575. Both mountain bikes. It was amazing how much better I rode, and how much easier things were. Now I'm trying to decide - new 575, or buy the AS-R that I rode.

Bought my first road bike a couple months ago, just a Trek 1000. But I like it so much better than going around on a hybrid bike because although you cut down on aerodynamics, making it easier on you...you are much more comfortable going long distances, thus a better workout

Freak man I have school and work its hard to have time to do anything man. I told you let me know one week before you want to ride on either friday, saturday, or sunday and ill be there and yes you will beat on me because im so out of shape its retarded. I go a few times and build up stamina then I slack off and have to start all over again.

Just order my Mt Bike today. Should have it next week, from Mad Duck Adventure Sports. They gave me one to ride last week, took it back today. I got 3 rides on it in 3 different places. It's amazing how much easier it was to ride than my ld Schwinn S-20.

Here's a pic of what it will look like:

not sure about the racing, yet. I have a little bit of getting in shape for this, first. I haven't been riding much because my other bike was such a pain in the ass.
Is that Prophet a Cannondale model, or does it just have that Lefty Cannondale fork? I was talking to Clarence up at Mad Duck about those when I bought my bike. I don't know much about these, but got advice and look up stuff on the net. Mad Duck gave me a decent discount, but even better they actually let me take a couple bikes home to test ride. I'd never been offered by a bike shop, to take a bike home for about a week, ride it as much as you want, and make an educated decision.

Actually I don't race though I have been considering entering some of dorba's events. Yea my bike is the Cannondale Prophet (as pictured). I was going to buy an '06 model from Mad Duck, but I found a deal I couldn't pass up on a used '05 model. This is my first full suspension bike and I really enjoy it. Lately I have had the pleasure of being able to ride 7-12 miles each day so I have been really progressing speed and endurance wise. Mostly I have been spending my time at Arbor Hills because it is so close, but I have been to many of the other trails. (Grapevine, Horseshoe, Erwin, LBH, etc) Let me know if you want to ride sometime for the time being I am nearly always on my bike.
