RKC Fastest Street Car Shootout...

I found this over on Rickiller.com They are trying to get a fastest streetcar shootout to take place sometime in Oct. You guys post your inputs and represent DFWstangs! ***This was orig. posted on ricekiller by Donnie but is not being orginized/held by ricekiller or jared. Top Line Coatings is hosting the event. Please keep the jared/ricekiller smak talk out of this thread.

Only thing I don't agree w/ is the "radial tire only rule." ET Streets are DOT and legal for highway use but not for this :rolleyes:

As some of you may know Tim .. from Top Line Coatings .. is putting up a fastest street car shootout Dallas style ..
Here are some of the clasifications

1. Meet at Bajio's mexican grill .... cruise from there to the track (30 miles)
2. register at Bajios and drive straight in to the track and pull into the staging lanes .. line up (random selection) and race ..
3. if you win you pull back around (hot lap) again a randomly selected race .. and this keeps up till there is determind a winner !! .. no stoping .. no getting out to check tire pressure, open bottles , change timing ,, or let the car cool ... real street cars.
4. there will be 2 classes .. open and daily driver ..
5. open class will be any tire any suspension .. must be taged and insured..etc..
6. Daily driver .. will be very strict .. basically you must have everything.... wipers.. full interior .. high beams . radial tire. one power adder.. all mirrors .. full exhaust .. through mufflers... basically any car you would see on a tuesday afternoon in traffic ... P.S. not sapphire
7. there will be a pay out .. what it is, has yet to be determined ..
8. there will be trophies .. you can display proudly
9. Instatnt green ..no times shown .. win light only
10. Basically this would be like cruising to a street racing site . (like regal row) and you get in line and race before the cops come ... but we do it at the track ..!


I am only an advisor to tim and I am trying to make this as interesting as possible ... I would love your thoughts ... good or bad ... let us know ... we want as many people as possible to race ...the rules may change . but thats what we have so far ...

we may have a few "buy back ins" .. there are alot of things I have not put in here .. too much to type ..

any thoughts would be awsome.. please post and let me know what you think .. Oh we are trying to get this together for late Oct. early Nov..
intialy enrty fee looks to be about 30 $.. and the procedes go to "Special Needs Children of Dallas" ... it's for the kids... and we can have alot of fun too ...

Has stock style suspension, drag radials but its not a car you see everyday

I wonder if they would discriminate against how nice a car looks :confused: :D

Does full interior mean you have a have a back seat? does a roll bar ;) take away from being a daily driver.... so many ?'s :)

Fair enough but because its YOUR thread isn't going to mean shit to most people. And if there is good reason not to waste your time with RKC or Jared then this is the PERFECT place to say so. That way people don't waste their time or money. Have you read any of the PINKS threads? All of them have the "I hate those fucks" theme but you also learn why and if its something you personally can handle.

They are trying to give this race a street race aspect. How many cars at the street races run DOT tires? I can remember driving out there and back on slicks, probably a 50 mile drive.

Little food for thought, at this time it isn't even being organized by anybody WITH RKC. Just by somebody who happens to post there. So it isn't even a "ricekiller.com" event....

Given I'm sure RKC will have some cars in it. The person who is organizing it is hoping to raise money for a few good charity causes so please bash RKC all you want but keep this thread clean if you are interested in rules/or helping shape the rules check out the thread on RKC.

Donny mentioned the idea to me Sat. at Redline. Not my cup of tea, but sounded interesting. In the post it does say Redline officials will run it at the track. Sounds like it could be fun, and if the money is there why not. It still needs some tweeken but a good idea. Better than the Motorplex Shootout.

I am trying to give some input. I think the organizers aren't aware of how fast some real street cars are going nowadays. I guess everyone thinks Donnie is the only one w/ a real, could be daily driven, street car that can run .30s. They are crazy to think that radial cars are only capable of running 7.0s.

I run 5-10 tiimes in an hour on the street, and I go MUCH faster than I do at the track, and my car doesn't overheat... If you can't run a short track 5-10 times in 3-4 hours, your car isn't a street car... If you have to tow it there, it isn't a street car.

Yeah even though your car falls specifically in the DD category (with borrowed tires) you would have to run the other class. You are just too fast so the rules don't pertain to you :rolleyes:
