Getting ready for FFW SUCKS!!

I hate getting ready for FFW as I always wait until the last minute! Every year its the same damn last minute bull shit for me.

What was good just isn't good enough. Gotta have more :rolleyes: .

Just finished hooking up the wet kit and pulling the dry kit off :D , re-routing several wires :o , re-looming several wires, probably bout 16kadozen wire ties :D , and the damn car still needs to be washed :mad: !

Any one else working on last minute details?

Yep, I know what you mean. Have to go and get nitrous bottles filled, get fuel jugs filled, wash and clean the car. Go to the grocery store and get food and supplies for the weekend (food at the track is too damn expensive!) and still have to get everything ready to load up the truck and the trailer. Man, your right this Sucks! :(

It used to be something everybody looked forward too all year now it seems like a joke. The Dallas races that weekend of Fun Ford was always the best of the whole year also ;)

Been a few times. Actually for me it's more of an excuse to drag a car down to Ennis. Being about a 45 min trip for me it's a little far for a fri night test & tune. So a weekend of raceing and a chance to win some $$$ I'm in.
Hell, the main reason I go is to try and get my car in a mag :D

Sounds like a plan to me. I can take the race car if want to go to a local track or I can bring out the new daily if we want to do a Sonic type of GTG. Either way is better than FFW to me.

DISCLAIMER: This is just my personal opinion, so for all you die hard FFW guys don't get your panties in a wad and start trying to prove a point about how it is not that bad. ;)

It used to be a blast, tons of people lots of vendors. but then it just became to damn expensive, almost 200 bucks for 2 for the weekend and food is outrageously priced, and the crowds are just not there anymore, hardly any vendors but you can find that out for yourself.

It is a red 69 firebird that now has a 514 ford motor but ffw will not let him run either.

i LOVED FFW back in the day. not so crazy about it anymore, but i still go to check itout.
FFW was bad ass up till about 2002, then it was all down hill... FFW in 97 was the best I've ever been to, almost all my friend's were driving Fords back then and the TS was HUGE!!! like 250 cars or something. I miss those times, today's FFW suck big ass. :rolleyes:

I wanted to say he had a 460 in it but Larry has later info than I have (514 bbf).

OTOH at the last PSN (or heck, the one before it) we had a guy with a fairmont and a pontiac 455 in it :D They let him run since it is pontiac powered.

And of course there is someone on here that had a fairmont wagon that almost ran at ffw with non ford power LOL........

Hell, have fun with whatever you are racing, and however it is powered :)

My waste gate is jacked and won't boost past 15psi. Guess I need to call Majestic?
I got by with a little cheat on sat though after the cruise. My hose off the turbo blew off on the cruise while I was playing with the boost controller. Whe I got back I pulled next to my truck and popped the hood. Fixed it quick then said what the hell, If I get caught I get caught.
Pulled in the back of the line and when the FFW guy asked what I was doing, I told him I just put my bottle in. He said ok and left :D ! Dumb-ass!

Any way, fighting a bad wastegate I managed a steller 14.0 on the 1st pass.
Only to be followed by a grounded hot wire on my battery box (damn short-cuts) that killed my battery and ended my day.

Rained out today so I still have no flippin clue what this car is actually capable of?

Man you need to take some time and work on all the bugs in the car. Sorry to hear its not running well. I need to get with majestic and see about a new turbo. I found a decnet deal online i want to compare prices.
I'm still debabting how bad i want my other upgrades. i might just pony up the cash to get the car done, i might wait. don't know yet.

I guess the next thing I gotsta get redy for is turbostangs cruise. It WILL be boosting by then. On a side note, 15psi +bottle and this thing pulled!!!! Too bad it rained sun cause thats how I was gonna run it :D
