Last I heard as of yesterday, Pat won't be there. But that may change. Also Charles Riggins motor is hurt and he probably won't be there either.
I think it is time for Blue Boy Roy Spencer to win one in True Street.
Extreme Street, if I don't have any new bugs show up, I think we just might pull off an apperance in the finals.
Limited Street I think belongs to the orange and white Camaro of Bubba Siggers.

Is Wolfe no longer running TTT5?
Is Wolfe no longer running TTT5?
Since Wolfe moved to a new facility a few months ago, he hasn't been racing anywhere. He said he needed the rest of 2006 to get his company back on track with the big move to a bigger facility. So they decided to put The "Nasty Nelly" on the back burner for a bit. Don't worry though, when they do come back out, all crap is gonna hit the fan because that will be about the same time several other turbo cars will be ready for some Limited Street action. It's gonna get hot in 2007!

so true street means they have to be able to drive on the street? or legal tires only....
It's a DOT tire class that runs on ET Streets and stock suspension.
Go to www.texastrueten5.com and click on the Rules links and that page has all the rules for True Street.

Rumors are just that, rumors. What is it that isn't legal this time?
If that is the case - anyone can step up and protest the car for 50$ or 75$ (I can't remember which it is)

I'll bet my last dollar it is True Street legal. Roy aint gonna out right cheat. Now he may find a loop hole, but thats a different thing. And if there is a loop hole, he will find it and use it, but Roy aint gonna cheat.

any pics of the white/orange camaro? is it the new body style one?

I'm asking you now because I've listened to it a 100 times and the only thing I hear is the controller ramping up to 100 precent about 2 1/2 seconds into the run. If you think it is illegal, then say what it is you think is illegal about it. Making an accusation without saying what you think is illegal is meaningless. Roy don't mind folks looking over his car. Go look it over real good. Hell, I've been to his house and look it over with it on jack stands. I can tell you this, if you are thinking it has a second hit hidden on it somewhere, you are dead wrong Old Man.
I remember in April of 2003 when I entered my first True Street race on Drag Radials. I had the 315's on there and my car was nearly a half second faster than the rest of the field. Somebody paid protest money saying I had a hidden nitrous system under the intake. All I had was a homemade nitous plate that worked real good. But because I was faster than the rest of the field certian ones assumed I was cheatin.
I guess the reason I'm bringing this up is because at least my accusers were specific about what they thought was illegal

I have been lucky to win against Roy. but his car is killer fast.
You take a man that his whole life revolves around drag racing and you take a man that has been drag racing for 40 years and then you take that same man, call em Roy Spencer with all the little tools and gadgets and a really nice shop setup that has everything a drag racer could dream of, and you end up with a man that is hard to beat! ;)

A nitrous controller is a traction control device! OTOH - so is a boost controller....and the MSD 7531 with "slew rate" is a timing control device which all do the same thing - limit or spread out power so the car will hook.
I have 2 of the 3 and there is nothing in the rules about any of them. Not to mention there are several nitrous cars that use the 7531 box as well....

Those are preset and not active controllers. The traction controll device is a real-time active sensor that works in milliseconds. A little different, but still not illegal and way more expensive.

Traction control devices, as far as I know, still need user input to tell it when the car is actually spinning or when the engine is accellerating to fast - I don't think there is a totally "intelligent" device... at least not at our level.
....and some controllers have a feature to restart the timer/controller when you lift which makes them a small step above..right?

Yes there is such a device and its $5000+ .The box learns from each pass. I saw a post about this on Outlawracing.com

The sensor reads drive shaft speed and adjusts engine rpm accordingly.

The ones I have seen read Engine rpm, wheel speed and G force even. When wheel speed becomes excesive the device retards engine timeing until car hooks and then ramps the timeing back in. All mesured in milliseconds. They have them for dirt track, drag and other forms of racing. And to top it off they are the size of a credit card. You can plug it in use it, at the end of the run unplug it and put it in your pocket. This is what Greg Anderson has been accused of useing, they just haven't caught him yet.

I get what you guys are trying to say - but - ALL of these devices aren't "smart" they require human input FIRST to tell them what is excessive etc...so back to the difference of bieng a traction control device or a controller. They both require human input to determine what is and isn't excessive wheel speed.
....I don't see how it could work any other way. Someone please correct me if I am wrong - but I can't see it any other way now.

It's kind of in the middle. Yes it is preprogramed like any computer, but an active sensor at the same time. It's like a closed loop mode, Yes you set perimeters, but it self adjust. Really slick little gadget, and not cheap. Way more advanced than any other on the market. They have demo tapes of PRO MOD, Funny Car all kinds of stuff.

Oh I'm not gettin my panties in a wad at all. But you made a very bold statement saying you thought his car wasn't legal. In my books, thats serious, making a public statement without any proof. Stop and think about it. Roy can't get on here and defend himself in the 1st place and in the second place, evidently you don't know the rules because traction control boxes are NOT illegal. But I wouldn't doubt it if he has one either.
He runs an NOS progressive controller, I've seen it with my own eyes.
Peace out!

I've also seen the modified MSD boxes with the circuitry built in. One happened to be in a car Tony Stewart raced:)
Still though if the rules don't outlaw them then it doesn't really matter. There are lots of other rules that should probably be in place that aren't.

Thats the one. I agree on the rules, if it does not say it is illegal it must be legal has always been the racer greed. That is why NHRA dedicated a whole section to it. ;) Every record breaking racer works the gray area, allways has - allways will. :D
Did you see they have a wireless model. Just have to have it in the car. How long till they have one the crew chief uses from outside?

F-1 cars have used remote adjustment of the suspension and engine management before. Not necessarily traction control but they are more than capable of handling that as well if needed. I'm sure there are some rules in place now preventing it but I know the issue has come up in the past.

Well, I ran the TURD in Extreme and it did not go anywhere . :( I will go over the car to see if I screwed something up. As for the races it was a good show.Had some flaring tempers ... on the out come of T/S final round.

Old Man's first comment was:
Heard that car isn't exactly legal.
So at first, he was just repeating hearsay. He didn't come right out and accuse, but he did insinuate cheating/illegal.
Old Mans 2nd comment was:
Listen to that car going down the track and then come back and ask me again.
His second comment basicly says, "listen to the car and you can hear he is cheatin/illegal".
So no, he didn't come right out and say it, but he might as well have came out and said it because he damn sure insinuated it. Thats the problem.

I saw the Final round of True Street from my pit at the finish line. I didn't know there was any problems with the result.
Roy did beat Duane by about 2-3 feet.
Of course Duane always cuts pretty good lights, so maybe Roy had to play catchup, once again, I missed hearing any complaints if there were any.
