Hey guys and gals. Considering getting Sirius Satellite radio. My hour too and from work drive is getting boring and I hate fricken comercials. Anyone have it? What is it all about? Is there a cheap way of getting it? If you do have it is there anything you would have done different? Thanks in advance.
Welcome to the revolution. You will never go back to testical radio once you get Sirius. Just pay for the 1 year plan in advance instead of month to month to save a couple of bux. What kind of radios are you looking at?
We've had it for several years, since like 03, and got the lifetime subsrciption so no monthly payments for me! Love it, regular radio is shit, never listen to it any more.

Actually its an hour EACH WAY LOL. Live in Midlothian and drive to Ft. Worth every day. Sometimes I can get it down to 45 min with no traffic.

get a starmate replay or s50 and hardwire it to your existing head unit. Buy a home kit and an extra car kit so you can swap it from vehicle to home

I have XM (I dig O&A and can not stand Howie) but as stated, commercial radio B L O W S
If on the rare event you have to listen, it will piss you off.
I drive 65 miles each way and spend a ton of time in the truck so it is a requirement.

I have sirius and I love it...I bought a S50 and took it back the next day, had a lot of features but I just felt that I wouldnt use them all and its really not a portable receiver...you have to have the home kit to make it work...Its a really cool unit and all, but I got a better deal (And saved like $200) by buying a pioneer headunit and sirius converter on eBay...whats good about the pioneer headunits is you can go with XM or Sirius...
I do the month to month and the first radio is $12 a month and ea additional radio is $6 a month...my total bill for 3 radios is around $28....
and I mounted the sirius antenna on my dash on the passenger side in the corner and it works, cause I didnt want to put it on my paint...
But I agree its so worth the money!!!
I've had Sirius for a little over a month now, and I like it. I don't understand how you guys can talk about no commercials though. I hear commercials all the damn time.

the music channels don't have "commercials". they do stop for a channel identification and all. Howard Stern has commercials, you try talking for that long without one, the Playboy channel has them too
btw: unlike testical radio, they are not 15 minute commercial break

Ya, the breaks are shorter. I don't listen to Stern, really. I honestly don't know exactly which of the stations are running all the commercials, but I mostly listen to music stations, Maxim, and Raw Dog Comedy.

Actually, you can sign up for a free three day trial on the website. Listen to the music and see what you think... What you hear on the internet is exactly what they are playing on the air...
That's probably the best way to see what you are getting...
