We will caravan from Sonic to TMS, where we will directed to our designated staging area (for photos, then to enter the track as a group)

The only difference this time (when we depart Sonic/Home Depot area) is that we are taking Hwy 287 to FM 156 - avoiding all the mess off of I-35 & 114...

It's not so much an issue of space to park at Sonic but leaving that parking lot we get split up every time because we have to yield to the eastbound Basswood traffic. At a minimum, I would suggest that when we pull out, we should pull through the Home Depot lot just to get all together. We won't get split up quite as much making a right onto the access road as we do making the left onto Basswood.

The last two of these started out like a cannon ball run with everyone from the midpoint back doing 100 trying to catch the rest of us. But I would personally take 635 west to 114 toward FTW then take 121 west toward FTW then 820 west to 35w north. Its all highway that way. Set the crack pipe down, have you ever even looked at a map of DFW? 114 does not go towards Fort Worth at any point. 114 is highway all the way to Roanoke after which you will encounter like 3 traffic lights (one right when the freeway ends, one at 377 and one at 35W). Just take 635 which dumps you in to 121 which dumps you in to 114 which takes you straight to TMS. It's just past 35W. You can't miss it.

I had a good time with the new Pony. It would have been a little better if everyone if front of me was not going so slow! :mad: Nevertheless I can not think of a better way to break in my new car. I had not even taken the car home after I bought it. We literally bought it and drove strait up to the GTG. We were almost too late, as we were pulling in the parking lot as everone else was lining up to leave. I'll post some pics up of the new car tomorrow when I download them off of my camera.

I'm 20 and drove...no one asked for ID that I saw.

I was the 2nd to last car at the end of the first group...till that chick in the mercedes passed me...I was like WTF so I slowed way down and was hitting 110 comming out of the corners (I was able to go faster in the corners than on the straights due to traffic)

Had a blast...good way to break my cams/turbo in :) (never opened it past 1/2 throttle)...I was driving the black volvo BTW

I loved hearing the exhaust echoing off the walls. :D I think I hit 90-95 a few times, but mainly stayed at around 70 because of the vert in front of me. Good to meet all of the new people too. You guys should come to the Sonic GTG on Tuesdays so it can always be that many Mustangs. :cool:

Everybody going 90 to 115 then back to 90 is hard to maintain a steady speed of 115 before you catch up to the one in front of you going 90.

All in all, I think we all would have liked to gone faster, but you just can't without passing or getting in trouble.

If you wanna go really fast ride with a Pro driver in Dec for $125 and go 180mph or drive yourself for $250 at 160mph in a nascar. That is in Dec according to a lady I spoke with.

I guess the 2 miles you left open between you and the car in front of you gave you the opportunity to "open it up a little". Too bad you'd slam on your brakes right before getting in the turns. The truck behind you wasn't the issue. It was the fact you would slow down so much then get on it and it would take him forever to get back up to speed.

I had a blast reguardless and so did my buddy, he was right behind you and said the same thing you are saying.

When one person slams on their brakes for a turn everyone has to. Drift back off the pace car some and run it up and let the guys behind you do the same. I lucked out being in the back. Not one car in our group should have had to brakes for the turn, let off yes, brake no. I've driven several of my old trucks on track (at goodguys) and never brake for turns, let off maybe. If my old ass trucks can go into a turn at 90+ any new vehicle should be able to as well.

Either way had a good time. Who was driving the Gt convert. in front of me? I sure hope that wasn't all it had on the back stretch on the last lap cause I was only at 1/2 throttle.

I agree that it wasn't on you at all. We thought it was until we had a chance to talk to you about it afterwards and got the scoop (Stangchick and I were in the Red GT that parked next to you when we were done). Had Bobby not played the snake game we probably all could have gotten to 110 or better for a solid lap or two.

As it was we only broke a hundred once. I think it was about 103-104. I was able to hit 85 - 90 in turn 2 and it felt a lot faster.

ya that was me, i was riding with teal cobra (didnt need to be spending 25 bucks to run my car when i did it in may) but we overheard this guy saying that if the pace trucks felt like everyone can handel their rides we could gradually start climbing in speed. i know we were right on the ass of the pace car so something was up.

I think the average speed was 75-80mph...the fastest I got to was 90mph.

you could see a big gap in fornt of that cobra then the white one then a black one were almost in its a$$ that one was slowing down everybody.

Yes (too a point) - Matt (427Aggie) helped round up the GT's - they were running late due to attending a car show just prior...

It was better that they were in their own group...the sound of a dozen Ford GT's at boost in banked turn is heavenly...:D

I wish i would have seen them. I went to go get my photo taken in victory lane, and when i came back, everyone was gone :( so i just went home. Played with a Shelby Cobra on the way back, but he didn't want none.

Well catch me on a Monday night sometime when I am out there in Frisco..I don't come often and sometimes bring the Viper...hopefully at the end of October I will have the pulley done..then I should be putting down around 640 at the wheels...WEEEEEEEE

It was good meeting with the ones I did...you can see the owners are hard to get together and we definitely have a very diverse group..but good guys.
