First has anyone done it? second i know there are some alarms that can do it but the clifford i'm having installed is a newer model unlike the older ones that had the safety exit procedure. installer says no problem (of course under conditions on my part) on making it work but is trying to come up with a neutral safety switch if possible just to be safe. so anyone have any ideas?

Ford wiring gurus is there a nuetral safety wire on a 06 mustang?

Clifford Matrix models = unsafe
Clifford G5 models = safe remote start for manual

Ive got one on my Expy and its a great unit. Got it off ebay also for 200 bucks and my install guy charged me 100 bucks and it is really nice. Good range on the remote too. Furthest Ive had.

You just need a Clifford Intellistart4 module and an override.

I have had a couple compustars and a few people I know have them... Great alarm but sometimes the remote takes a while to send the signal and batteries die quick.

Thats a hell of a deal for install though

Not a problem with proper equipment. For example, with the Clifford G4 & G5 product, you have to perform an exit procedure which makes you set the parking brake and put the car in neutral before exiting. If you don't perform the exit procedure, the car will not attampt to start and if the alarm has been disarmed or triggered, it will also not attempt to start. Most remote start systems are not designed to work safely on manual transmission cars. The G4 & G5 models work great.

Ive never really had any problems with remote signal (worked all the way to 1500 ft with mine) but the battery life is short with any LCD remote. One of the cons of having that cool little gadget in your pocket.
The guy that did the install is an installer at one of the top shops in a several state area. He does installs on the side for 20 bucks an hour which turns out to be a helluva deal on anything that takes a while.

Hey thats a sweet idea! I installed a remote start on my manual and it drove into my friends appartment. It was funny because it knocked out a whole wall and didn't damage the car. The emergency brake was set but I had a hard time convincing the cop it crawled up the hill with the brake set.
