my brother is under the impression that people were actually having full blown out street racing with the streets blocked off about 5 years ago on northwest highway.... If my memory serves me right...the street racing was going on at railhead,cockerlhill, luna, newberry, royal, big town. i do not remember organized street racing on Northwest highway rd....

I remember it being a little more than 5 years back prob 7. Everyone would park on the side of the road and if you was racing you lined up. That would explain the road being blocked off just because a bunch of cars sitting and waiting to run. Used to piss off the truckers baad.

The crosses are there because some drunk ass program director from a local radio station ran through the crowd in his Benz. He killed a few people. I never saw anyone wreck while racing on NW highway myself but I'm sure it happened.

But the people were there watching the street races. also A few weeks before that happened a black 69 firebird slid into some cars and ran a few people over.

no i did not say that stop lying i said a few times a week. yes it is a trip down memory lane. i remember we would bounce between places race the the cop thing then go to the next spot. there were some hot cars out there ripping it up then it became like some fast and the furious shit people running all over the place runnning and trying to drive like they kicked the cop in the nuts lol.

i wished i lived closer than greenville it was the shits to go down there to the races and be back to work at 7 in the morning. I went when i could good times. I was 16 or so it would have been a blast to have a fast car back then. Street racing laws suck period. It did get shitty towards the end just like everything it does get out of hand lots of fights lots of guns and so on. But i highly doubt you can go to the what they call street races now days and see some guys unloading the trailor cars for a night of fun.

actually we used to race right in front of the FINA on N.west,and also across the street were the Mickey D's is at. It used to get crazy out there....used to race right across the street from the entrance to go into GRAND24, other spots also included Royal(which at times used to get closed by the cops) also,Regal row,Newberry,(N.west over by the liquor stores),Luna.....

we had a few cars out there, Black fox GT on slicks,Purplish/Blue Fox gt(on chrome ponies on DR's)and black fox coupe welds-on slicks,and Silver Fox gt on DR's....always rolled out there together.

man those were the days...... :)

yep I remember racing out there. I think we even meet up on wed night to or Thurs. But I know Frid and Sat for sure. I even remember watching a T'A and camaro run from the cops on NW highway. I was in the HomeDepot parking lot (i think it was that accross the street from the gas station). I talked to the T'A owner the next weekend out there and he said he got away. That was crazy. But the best place I like going to watch or race had to be Regal. lot of parking and there was a median. I remeber a T'A running into a tree during a race out there. Poor guy I have no idea how he lost control

oh, yeah your buddies were trying to call out my car with yours while my car is broken lol.. i just didnt know who owned it, and i never set a date for the race though because i'm not sure when the car will be ready. i broke the input shaft, grenaded the tranny, and bent the driveshaft :( but will definately race when the car is ready

Cool, well let me know. I dont think I have EVER seen a 03-04 Cobra run my times(street car atleast :) ) but we will see. When do you expect it to be done?

I remember that. I was there in my van parked in the liquor store parking lot. He hit about 3-4 ppl before completely running over the girl. He broke my friend's g/f's leg and I watched him spin a 230lb guy in mid air. I didn't go much after that.

i understand all of this... but as i said. i was talking about 5 years ago. and the physical road northwest highway being blocked off at that time... might have happened a few times.. but he is claiming it was everynight of the week on that road.

It wasn't every night but it was pretty regular on Friday and Saturday nights. Irving PD would setup road blocks right at the Las Colinas border. No East bound traffic was let through and anyone West bound was likely to be stopped and checked out. Dallas PD would roll through every 2-3 hours and chase everyone off to Luna or Regal Row.

He sure did run his mouth alot about how bad ass he was then when it came time to actualy race he pussed out everytime. We were supposed to race a few times and the one i show up without the car he starts running his mouth in front of all his mustang buddies and wants to race for any amount of money. I go home get the car come back and then he tries to keep raising the bet,after he figured out we would match any amount of money he could raise and i wasn't backing down he came up with 478 reasons why he couldn't race right then. Finaly after punking him out in front of his freinds he agrees to race. We pull out on the street and during my burn out he pulls a u turn and leaves and i never saw him again.

From what remember it was a skinny dude and i think he wore a hat all the time.
I know his mouth was the biggest thing about him. i think it was a lx body stlye with pro stars and either nitrous or a supercharger.

scott was skinny, but he has a gt...stars were on the hoods, and the stripes ran down the doors and back of the car...jyro car had one big star on the hood...
