What would be a good system including front speakers, rear speakers, and a amp for 500$??
Would be installed in a 2000 mustang.

Depends on who you ask, or what your definition of "good" is. IMO, you can't get a "good" system for that budget unless you find great deals on used equipment. But you may get something that sounds good to you. Just check around.
Is this going to be your final system for this car, or are you willing to piece things together over time?
Mach 460 or not?
Keeping stock radio?
$500 is a very low budget for quality parts and installation. A basic Alpine 4ch amp and 2pr Alpine 5x7 using the factory (non-Mach 460) deck would run about $649 w/tax installed.
-Or- you could do a Alpine deck (9856) with MANY upgrade options for the future and 2pr Alpine 5x7 for $569 w/tax installed.

yea, depends on if its a mach system and if u want a sub and shit like that... $500 is enough to get a halfway decent system w.o instalation...
If u dont really know the difference (as in if u dun have the ear for it) u could jus get
-2pr of kicker coaxl's or sum shit for about $160... pretty good for the money... or 1 pr of infinity kapas for about 120 just for the front
-a 5 channel pheonix gold amp for about $250
-a base pioneer HU for $100
u would have a strong base for about $500 and then you could pick up a beginner sub and box for $150-250

Or you can step it up more and do a NON Mach system with Factory radio using a upper end Recoil 4 ch. amp, 4 guage power kit, BOSTON 5X7 speakers F/R installed at $685 (Thunder Audio/Carrollton), If your at the $500, dont skimp. Get quality equiptment that you can build on. If anything do a little at a time. Start with a nice head unit your happy with and build your system up. If your serious and looking, check out Thunder Audio this weekend (July 15th). 97.9 will be there between 1-3 pm doing a live remote. There will be huge 1 time savings on Boston Accoustics, Zapco, Cliff Designs, Clarion, JBL, Cerwin Vega, Cutting Edge and a few others. And if I remember right some Double Din in Dash TV's that are bad ass. 7" wide, built in blue tooth for cell phone, built in Ipod controls, built in TV tuner, SD card slot, all touch screen, 6 channel output, built in center channel, etc. It will be fun. or maybe get the amp in a couple of months but im in need of some speakers
Hey call Thunder Audio. If you need 5X7, the Bostons are one of the ones that will be on the promo for saturdays live remote. But if you need quicker, I will give you the promo price on 2 pair. You will save around 25%. Bostons are never on sale, so a good deal.
also ask about the clearance on some amps. Autotek MX series 4 channel on clearance, and specials on Boston amps, Zapco, and Solid

What brand/model head unit are you talking about that has all of that built in?

Yes, 2 pair boston 5X7 speaker sets, and nice 4 channel amp under your price. Also have some Cliff Design 5X7. You have good choices out there.

there is only one Boston (acoustics), and yes, cliff a good brand. Those in the circuit will know them. They are by far not cheap, top comps run $1500, amps in the same range.

save some money, dont buy rear speakers for a mustang.
use a good 2ch amp and a good pair of component speakers up front.

I would do a set of SL80 6x8 component plates (boston) up front, and a S or SX 6x8 for rear fill. The SL80's are a little pricy, but one of the best plates ive ever heard.

goda agree with momo... unless u have alota people ride with you in the back (and if u even can find urself to care what everyone thinks that much that rides in the back) unless u have the ear for things like staging and really care about it, its not necessary to get some badass speakers for tha bad of that car. might wanna get some speakers with a higher power handling so they dont distort but there's no reason to get a $200 or $300 dollar pair

Hopefully in a couple of weeks he will be hooking me up with a bad-ass system
Thanks again Eric.
Great to meet you. Let me know when you're ready.
