View Full Version : I need a job.
I need a decent paying job. I've got experience in the automotive/diesel field as a mechanic, I can weld(not certified though), use a torch, operate a forklift, but I'm kind of looking for something different, maybe car sales, I'm also looking into truck driving so if you know of anyplace that will train you please post up.
Thanks.- Adam.
Come on guys...... somebody must know of something.
I got a job ...... for the girl in your avatar.
Seriously though, good luck findin one.

check out the dallas morning news...in the back...next to car sales is the trucking advertisments...all the major carriers are always hiring recruits...stevens transport (newest and nicest peterbuilts) and schnieder (sp) to name a few....
My company, BNSF Railway, is hiring for field positions. They pay extremely well too, but it is hard work. You can be based almost anywhere you want and you can move around almost anytime you feel like and to whatever position (ie Finance, Safety, HR, Transportation). They have a yard up in Alliance, Tx and other spots within Texas if you're looking to stay local.

If u wanna drive a truck for a living....expect to be an OTR driver for atleast 1 or 2 years. Most of the good local company require 2 years exp due to insurance reasons. Dont sign any contracts with any truck driving company even if they train u. It is a good career with good pay but the first 2 years really suck so be prepared if thats what u decide to do.

The Valspar plant in garland off of shiloh and forrest is hiring. Several types of production positions across 3 shifts. I think starting pay is in the $12-$13/hr and the new dispense dept. starts at about $15/hr. Benefits (off the top of my head) 401k, ESPP, insurance, profit sharing. Lots of physical labor, its hot in the summer and cold in the winter.
