Depends upon which model. Some of the 10 year old stuff is quirky. Is the L.E.D. lit up solid?

which led are you talking about, i found one on a switch that blinks off and on, but not sure what the switch does, and or if the light should blink or stay on.

Toggle switch is to put the alarm in valet (off), program the alarm, and override the alarm if it is armed and you lose the remote or the remote is broken. If the l.e.d. is on solid, the alarm is in valet. If the l.e.d. is blinking a steady on/off pattern, the alarm is armed. Look under the driver's side of the dash. find the alarm brain which is usually a black plastic box the size of a deck of cards. Note the model number. Go to www.clifford.com and download the manual for your alarm. Read it.
