Well i'm going to run windows XP in it, just because I really don't have the time this moment to learn linux. This is my first time building a computer and actually keeping it for myself to use, so do you just have to buy a new copy of WinXP and load that up? I know it's a stupid question, but I have to add that into my budget unless I find another way of getting it.
Just wondering, let me know what's up...

you don't have a copy currently? you can use it as long as its the full version.
if you don't have it, then i guess you have to acquire it by some means...

well all my current and previous computers were bought from stores like bestbuy and Fry's.
I haven't tried using the restoration CD's on a new computer, but I would expect them not to work, anyone able to set me straight on this matter?

Sometimes companys like HP, compaq, and dell will ship the resto disks AND another cd that is the full install. Both of my HPs, and my compaq laptop had both resto disks and the full xp install disk. Just an FYI.

Check www.newegg.com they usually have complete XP Pro/XP Home for pretty good prices.

I just bought an OEM WinXP SP2 CD from Tiger Direct for $130. Not sure if that's a good deal or not but I thought I'd share.
