Got this from Dallas Morning News...Just think back to the six-minute mark of the fourth quarter of Game 3 when the Mavericks were leading by 13, when Miami fans were booing the Heat. You didn't have to be a Dallas fan to think that the Mavericks might be celebrating a championship by late Thursday night.

That has postponed by five days. Or seven days.

Or, in Mavericks' fans nightmares, even longer.

Mavs haven't really played well in any of these games. At first I thought it might be just a case of the jitters. Now I'm beginning to think the Miami defense is the cause.

Dirk was pretty active in games one and two and even parts of three. He was moving well without the ball. Shots weren't going down. I was watching him last night without the ball and his movement wasn't what it should be. Perhaps the physicality of the Heat's d is taking its toll.

I believe the Mavs have a shot at winning Sunday with some adjustments made by Avery. If they do win Sunday, I think the Mavs def. win the series. If the Mavs lose Sunday, they still have a chance, but they will have a tall hill to climb.

Everything we see tv has been prepared for us why not sports. I can see how its all tied to money. Fuck this game....Dallas was there to win it and came up short. Im not going to complain about the refs. The difference was crunch time fouls. Heat made theirs and the Mavs didnt. Howard missed those two freethrows. That was the game.

Mavericks come back in win game 6 in my eyes. Game 7 will be up in the air but I think this series very well may end with the home team being 7-0.

Wade had a stellar game, again. He is an amazing athlete who made clutch shots when they counted, and definately was part of the win for the heat. Regardless of what happens in the next two games, barring Terry scores 60 points each game, Wade should get Series MVP as a shoo in.

Play strategy was poor by the Mav's, we should have driven to the hoop HARD. We need points in the paint, and get them drawing fouls. The few times we tried this, we were successful. It amazed me that even when shaq was not in, we were not driving hard inside. I honestly believe we were afraid to go inside deep and i couldnt figure it out.

Why did we randomly foul shaq when the ball was beyond halfcourt? I can understand it if we are in penalty, but what the fuck for if they arnt in penalty? Diop did it in the 2nd half, and we did it TWICE in OT. It was fuckin stupid. The camera panned on Avery and he looked pissed, as if he knew his players didnt know WTF they were doing. I think Josh completely blew it at the end.



That being said, i really didnt put a ton of weight into the referee bias untill this game. I was dumbfounded at how many calls went to the heat and what wasnt called. What really got my bloodpressure up were the times that the heat got to take shooting fouls when there was clearly no shot. The officiating on this was very very unusual for any game, reguardless of who is playing. The refs want to play a tight game? Thats fine, there should be a lot of fouls and foul shots. But to have the more physical and aggressive team (heat) have signifigantly less foul shots, while playing no less physical than the mavs "hack a shaq" policy it just shows as fucked up.


On the broadcasting, i was very disappointed in the superstar treatment of showing shaq's family over and over. They went on and on about Wade, but admittedly, he deserved a fuckload of credit for the heat. The heat beyond Shaq and Wade are worthless, i would wager that beyond them, the heat scored terribly, and those that did score points was at the free throw line. When the game went back and forth with 4 minutes and less remaining, the announcers would go nuts when Wade hit clutch shots, but were muted when Dirk and Terry fired key shots back. As a mav's fan, a bias indeed, i still found this to be frustrating to have to listen to this commentary on a close game.

Where was the Mavericks' drive? I don't understand why they took 3pt attempts and 12' jumpers instead of assaulting the basket. They won't win championships with that kind of play PERIOD. They let the Heat get back into the game, so it's their own fault they lost it.

That said - anyone with two eyeballs and a vague notion of NBA rules could see that in the 4th and OT, phantom calls were made against the Mavs, and that Wade was knocking into defenders like a fucking bowling ball and got a free ride on a backcourt violation. It's infuriating as a Dallas fan, and it certainly affected the outcome of this game, but it is clearly the Mavericks' own fault for not pulling away when they had the lead - YET AGAIN.

I don't have any faith left in the team, I believe this is the Heat's year. I like Shaq, always have, so it's good to see him on another championship-caliber team at the twilight of his career. Wade is definitely a superstar in the league but I want to chop him up and run him through a fucking meat grinder right now...
