A friend of mine has given me a job opportunity but unfortunately im not qualified for it. The company he's working for is looking for an independent web developer. They need someone to update their website with a list of the parts they sell and set it up so customers can go into their website and place an order for parts instead of doing it over the phone. The company is trying to avoid using a web master service. I know that if i knew how to i would jump on it because from what my buddy told me they would pay you really good if you know how to do this. If you need anymore information or think you can do what theyre asking let me know and i'll pass you along to my friend.

oh yah flame me all you want but i wasn't sure how much attention this would get in the job forum; plus this is easy money for any of yall that know how to do shit like this.

Most hosting companies provide shopping cart tools, etc to build a webpage. You should check it out, not really that hard to do. It's all drag and drop shit for the most part nowadays.

More than HTML. Something along the lines of ASP.NET, PHP etc. since the website is going to be database driven.

Inventory has to be stored somewhere, database... Once the DB is set up, they can add items, change prices, etc.

Is the site already hosted somewhere? What are they looking to pay? Do they want open source or do they want to pay for some MS(ux) application? How intensive is their current site and is it written in any special code (asp, php, cfm, etc...).

shit all i know is they want someone who's independent who can make an on-line database so customers can choose parts they need ordered. as far as anything else goes you would have to talk to them. and the pay would be negotionable.... i know they dont want to spend over $10k which i find funny for a web development company to charge. btw the name of the company is adley moto....they specialize in atv vehicles. if you're serious let me know. it would be a one time thing.

Sure. I can talk to them and see if we can come to some sort of an agreement.

Do they need payment over the web? If it is just an inventory/ordering system that would be relatively easy to set up.

I built my site with Dreamweaver, Frontpage, PhotoShop 7 and 8 and from writing plain HTML from scratch on a notepad.

Granted I am using pre-made forums, cart and hosting gallery, but I altered scripts in all three of them and upkeep the databases for all PHP.

It's really not that hard. Hell I taught myself EVERYTHING in about 6 months and never went to a single class on webmastering or scripting..

http://forcedinduction.net is my site

Guess what I am saying is, I would be interested.

those who are interested PM and it'll be up to the company to decide who can give them what they need. If you can do it, you'll get paid. They'll tell you specifically what they want. PM ME.

Do you still like osCommerce? I have used that a lot and have actually been looking for a different storefront. Here is one of the ones I built http://www.dynospeedracing.com
