If dirk and howard can pull it togeather then i will say we get it by 10-15, but there is a lot of shit they need to work on gameplay wise too. true we won but we didn't play well at all. we just got lucky and miami was even worse after the 1st.

i still say Mavs in 6

the schedule has changed to 2-3-2 instead of the normal 2-2-1-1-1

i think Dallas will one one in Miaimi and hopefully they can wrap it up in Game 6 here.

They changed it that way in hopes for a longer series... I think they may get their wish. I'm still saying Dallas, but it'll take AT LEAST 6 games. With the way they played last night, they're lucky they were playing Miami. San Antonio, Phoenix, or Detroit would have waxed them!

Mav's will get their shit together for the next game, Avery will make sure of that. I see another 10+ blow-out by the Mav's, but with both teams playing better and it being a better game to watch.

Mavs in five.

Shaq will retire and do pregame for TNT next year. He'll kill Charles Barkley on national television with his bare hands and immediately high five Ernie Johnson.

Definitley the SECOND best. The first was trading the "Traylor" to the Bucks for #9 in the '98 draft, or whatever. Well, whatever trade that the Mavs pulled off to slide up in the draft to pickup the Germanator.

I have seen the heat play in the East not the West. What was the combined record on the teams the heat played in the playoffs?

Now find out what the combined record of the teams the Mavs went through.

that doesnt mean anything except the teams in the east played in a division with more competitive teams, I honestly dont think the mavs would have had 60 wins in the east, but they will win in 6

LMFAO! You are kidding right? The best stat I could find was when we were 40-11 on March 25. At that point we were 22-4 against the East.

momo stallion

the heat where 52-30 (they were the #2 seed in the east)

they wouldnt have made the playoffs?? just by records they would have beat out division champs denver. they would have beat out memphis, la clippers, la lakers, and sacrament. they would have been 2 games behind phoenix.

Zinc_Stang

But they played in the weakest division in the nba. The mavs wouldnt lose more than 15 games in the East. We won 60? games and we were the number 4 seed.

you're right, i dont think anybody is better than the mavericks. its just no one is giving the heat any credit almost as if they had a cake walk to the finals.

what happened to dirk is a bit concerning. he was defended very well. he will have to adjust next game.

I bet they would have at least matched Detroit's record with 65 wins.

what happened to dirk is a bit concerning. he was defended very well. he will have to adjust next game.Last time Dirk had a sucky game, he came back and dropped 50 the next game. I'm not saying Dirk will drop 50 in game 2, but I'll say he'll have something like 28 pts and 8-10 rebounds. And the Mavs will win.

50-34 Mavs at half. Man, that first 3 that Stack hit towards the end of the 1st half was an easy 2-1/2' behind the line, plus he got the foul. That catch-shoot 3 at the end of the half was SICK too. Its hard even for Shaq when he is getting double teamed by Dallas. Dallas knows that Miami's offense runs through Shaq and Wade. D/T Shaq and make Wade shoot jumpers, that is the key to why Dallas is winning.

I hope the Heat can win a game or two so Dallas can win the championship here in rather than on the road in Miami (and so I can attend the last game of the season :D ). Gotta give it up to Avery and the coaching staff for what they've done this year. Dallas has overcome so many things in reaching the championship with the loss of some key players over the past 2 years. It makes you wonder if we could have gotten here sooner if Avery had been coaching the Mav's with Nash and Finley still on board.

I honestly do not think that Dallas will sweep Miami as much as I would like them to, they will step up for at least one game. Dallas did play a phenomal game of defense on the Heat IMO and it shows by how frustrated the Miami team was. Wade's technical, Shaq sitting out the 4'th Quarter and failing to talk to any media after the game, and finally the look on an injured Udonis Haslem sitting on the bench.. that was priceless.

Even with the Dallas offense playing sloppy the first half there defense kept them in until Stack caught on fire the last few minutes of the first half. Good numbers from some of the Mav's starters and Stack off the bench. Dirk 26, Howard 15, Terry 16, and Stack 19 points. On the boards, Dirk with 16  and Damp with 13. Damp is playing with a vigor after sitting on the last series. Diop had a good game as well and helped the Heat turnover the ball on a few key plays.

I may be getting ahead of myself but I hope Cuban can keep this crew together for another run at the Championship next year. Can you imagine how they will play next season if they can keep them intact?

Mav's in 6!!! :D Go Mav's!!!!

I may be getting ahead of myself but I hope Cuban can keep this crew together for another run at the Championship next year. Can you imagine how they will play next season if they can keep them intact?

Mav's in 6!!! :D Go Mav's!!!!I hope they stay together as well. Ben Wallace is a free agent. I hope he leaves Detroit.

That was the first Mav's game I've been to in two years. It was the best sporting event I've ever been to. 22K super fans! :D

Plus the new rookies, whoever they are, to do the dirty work. Can you say repeat? :D

They can in handy when we need to do some fouling :D

I could care less about Ben Wallace coming to Dallas if that's what you are implying. As for the current Mav's, we could probably do without Van Horn even though I like him as a player. DJ, Powell, and Armstong to (and whatever that Russians name is :D ). The rest contribute to a good starting 5 and a very very deep bench.

Awesome Ryan! I took my nephew to Game 5 of the Suns and he went again last night with my siter to Game 2 of the Heat and they both cannot get over the energy of the crowd. I'd like to see how the Heat's home court compares to the Mav's fans.

They were saying the Mavs arena will be one of the most hostile courts in the NBA to play at.

Shaq didn't give up IMO. The heat needed quick players to get themselves back in the game. Shaq is told old to run transition.
Shaq is 34 years old, for God's sake! If he had lost that 35lbs. of extra pork Riley told him to lose, he would be fine. He won't listen to anybody when it concerns his game. Free-throws? What a joke, but will he listen? Nope. He told Rick Barry he would rather never make a FT, if it meant him having to shoot underhanded. It's time he paid the piper...

*Footnote- I saw where Van Horne is making $15.7 MILLION this year! He said he would like to stay here, even if it meant a drop in pay! No shit? That's mighty white of you Keith, but I think we'll pass! :D

I'd keep Van Horn as long as he provides a decent floor presence when Dirk is resting. He is a good jump shooter and plays defense, 15.7$ million is a bit much coming off the bench. Who doesn he think he is Jerry Stackhouse?!

Right!! Jerry is worth the coin, but ever since Keith got hurt his game has not come back to him. You could count on his good "D" and the occasional "3" but now we get nothing.

That's cool man, wound up watching it at home with my dad and brother in law. Spent to much money over the weekend and couldn't afford to go out, wound up standing up BOOSTED :( Sorry man :(

They were talking about Shaq last night on the news about his free throwing and that he was arrogant and wouldn't listen to anyone about improving (or even trying) his shots. As many times as he made it to the free thow line in the first game it would have made a huge difference. And what's the deal with him passing out of a double team? Shaq used to always go strong to the hoop. What gives?

About Van Horn, I like him as a person but he's gotta step up his game. He is good in a pinch for Dirk getting some rest time on the bench but I'm wondering if he's not playing as well (for him anyway) because of the surgery on his thumb. IMO, he would have to take a big cut in order to remain on the team.

What I like about Van Horn is he can get streaky along the three point line. But he hasn't been the same (again, for him) since the surgery. His salery could be better spent keeping Terry and locking down Howard for a longer contract. I think Howard has another year left on his contract.

He has played in every post season his entire career. His age might not show it but he is still old anyway you slice it.

Their whole team sweats a lot. Did anyone notice how hard Wade was breathing. They are use to a playing slow paced 85 pts wins the game (East Basketball). Look at how the Heat played with 2 days rest, from here on out its every other day.

At the half of game two the Mavs looked as though they just finished practicing. Eric Dampier wasn't even sweating during the interview before the half.

Who doesn he think he is Jerry Stackhouse?!Same here, I'd keep him for maybe 5-6 mil a year. He hasn't been the same since the surgery, but I strongly believe he's a reason we made it out of the S.A. series. He hit some MONSTER shots in that series.

Not to mention he came out on the floor COLD in the playoffs to hit a few of those big shots. Coming out and playing well after sitting four months, let alone coming out in the playoffs, says alot for a player. Avery has made everyone on this team better, including Van Horn.

Still not worth 15.7$ mil per year though.....

Van Horns only worth is his ability to stretch defenses with his 3 point shooting. He occasionally takes it to the basket and gets fouled but that is much more rare than early in his career.Other than that, he sucks defensively and isn't a good ball handler.
Is he worth 15 million a year?Of course not but he would be worth a mid level exemption next year.
