Not necessarily Car Audio but Home Audio. So I'm looking at these KLH Outdoor Speakers. What kind of punishment can these things take (in general)? I'm talking about sun and rain punishment?
I'll ask this guy at work to see what brand he has, but I believe he has that brand not sure, but his are tucked in between the roof and the outside wall of house, not in direct contact with sun and rain which I think your asking. If so, then sorry man, don't know. Overall the speakers sound real good, and he's had them for awhile and haven't had any problems with them at all. Don't know if this helped you or not.
I've had some outdoor speakers setup over my grill for 3 years now. They are in the shade but I've played them with water dripping from the cones. I paid $30 for the set at Sears when they were on clearance, Audiocontrol brand I think.

most outdoor speakers hold up pretty well, they are not really designed to take on direct sun and direct rain, but under the eve of the house or under the porch and you should be good to go.

Bose makes a 101 meant for outdoors. If they are under an eave, and protected, I'd try anything with polypropylene(sp) drivers.
