OK, here is a map to the Pavilion (#3), it's circled in yellow. It's further away from the gate but at least you do not have to drive all the way through the other picnic areas.

Also please remember that there is a $10 fee to enter the park.

http://www.dfwstangs.net/coppermine/albums/userpics/10134/pavilion3.gif

Here is a list of things we need, please post up what you can help bring. Please note that if someone is signed up to bring something like sodas or cookies doesn't necessarily mean there will be enough for everybody. Realistically, I'd like to see a couple of people signed up to bring the same items, I'll label those in red with green meaning it's covered or taken care of.

OK, got the pavalion rented out but couldn't get our normally one and had to settle for pavalion 3 on the far end of Lynn Creek Park. It's not to bad and it's a lot closer to the 1 but not sure if it's good for the kids to be walking around in it. Good for fishing I'm sure as I saw quite a few boats near by.

Some quick pics I took with my camera phone. Sorry for the quality.

Damn, I feel like fishing, but its been so long since I've fished fresh water, being from south texas, nothing but the Playa. What bait should I bring, and what kind of fish is stocked? That means I have to go buy some tackle now :( I have nothing but heavy tackle.

@ jtrevino2003. Fishing from the bank sucks, doubt you will have much luck with the heavy boat traffic and all the swimmers in the area. Now if you have a boat or float tube you can do some damage........but not near the gtg.
For bass on that lake i have great luck with a clear/speckled grub texas rigged in the grasses or running a snagless sally spinner bait across the top of the hyd'
For sand bass(white bass for all you central south texas mofos) nothing beats a roadrunner jig or 2-3" white jig.
Catfish I don't know but I am sure normal stuff would work.
Lotsa of carp around there too and I have some secret tricks for them if you are fishing just for the sport of it.
Allen knows the lake better than me(i have only fished it twice) but I know what works for me. I am sure he has some good tips

OK, got the list updated. Still need a few things if someone can help out.

We are still weak on the charcoal, if someone else can help bring another bag that would really help me out. Doesn't hurt to have to much charcoal but with all the stuff I'm bringing I'll probably only be able to bring one. If we get to many bags we can always use it for the next cookout.

Looks like we also need some more people bringing desserts, dip for the chips (I'll be bringing the spicy guacamole SP?), and maybe some sort of side dishes to munch on before the meat gets cooked.

Things are looking good for the weekend, looks like we are going to have some great weather. We are looking pretty organized this time and shouldn't forget anything. I may bring a small TV to watch any NBA games on and possible a fan if it looks like it's going to be to warm.

I think personally this was the best GTG to date. Great company, great food, great weather, it couldn't be beat today.

The list is definitely getting fined tuned for the best and today proves it (other than the small miss on the forks and spoons). We had more than enough food and enough side dishes including dessert. The only thing was that I only ate two tacos and a piece of cat fish (which was good). I missed out on the crappy.

My only regret was being on the bike and not being able to fully enjoy my alcohol consumption. Although me and Jet made up for it. Hell, I just stopped drinking 45 minutes ago and just finished warming up some left over fajita and some flour tortillas :D

Today's Southside GTG was bad ass. Like I said, best turnout to date. Good seeing some new faces along with some old faces. As far as the location, I think this pavalion is the best to use at Lynn Creek but I'm going to take a look over at Cedar Hill State Park and see what they have to offer. Might be cheaper and better location. More info to follow on that in a couple of weeks as I'll be out of town this weekend.

Again, just wanted to personally thank everybody for showing up. I had a great time and the food was great. Thanks for everybody pitching in on the food, drinks, and other misc. items. That's what makes it easier to do these things ever month. Special thanks to Alan and company brining out the catfish and crappy (sp?). Although I missed out a chance to try the crappy the catfish was awesome :D Special thanks to Alex for cooking, sure beats me slaving over the grill :D

Oh. And I just wanted to say thanks for the bikini contest photo shoot ;)

BTW, check out this info I found out on Cedar Hill State Park.

1 - Group Picnic Pavilion (capacity 100):
$85 per day.

1 - Group Picnic Pavilion (capacity 50):
$65 per day.

* Excess Vehicle Parking (number restricted at some parks.): $4
* Activity Use Fee Per Person (day or overnight): $5
* Penn Farm Interpretive Tour Fee: $2 per adult; $1 per student
* Annual Marina Access: $45 original; $15 duplicate

Seems like we can get the pavalion for cheaper and the vehicle charge is cheaper as well. I'll check it out in a couple of weeks.

I think the state park is $5 a person to get in versus $10 a car at LynnCreek and Loyd Park.

its cheaper for those that normally go up there alone. But if there was a group(more than 2 people) in one car/truck then its more expensive.
If more people go in groups greater than 2 then it would be best to keep it at Lynn Creek, but if there were more individualists then Cedar Hill side would be best. For me and darkROAM, it doesn't matter b/c we ride in 1 car anyways.
