Ran into a fast ass Cobra today. He was getting on 820 from beach going west bound, so i rolled up on him. We kinda play for a minute then got into traffic. Well as soon as we get close to Meacham, i'm behind him, and let him roll so i can see what he's got. So i kick it into 5th, pull up next to him, look at my gauges, and i'm at 160 bouncing off the rev limiter, look over, and he's still next to me!! :eek: Shift into 6th and started finally pulling on him. Then i see him kinda back there, let him go by, thumbs up, and i jump behind him and follow him to TCC nw. We talk for a bit, and he tells me he's pushing a little over 500hp. Don't know if it was rwhp, or what, but still, it was fast to keep up with me like that. He's not on this board, but its a red 00-01ish cobra vert with black top, and black wheels. Pretty cool guy. He said he's been wanting an R1, and i just helped him with his decision :D

From what everyone has said on here, they hold up at high speeds. I checked it when i got home, and its still in there good.

I don't race that much, but i think i got my worth on that one for quite a while now.

If you would have ran from a lower roll you would have walked on him pretty easy if you were pulling him at 160.

I raced a blown viper making a claimed ~600Rwhp from a 60, and he didn't pull me from 60-140, so with you on there, i'm sure it scoots.

Quick question.....between an 04 R1 and a 954RR whos the winner? Ive got an 02 954rr and me and a buddy in a blown GSX-R lined up against a r1 but traffic was not good for a race. What do you guys think? He wants to run again. BTW got the bike dynoed at 147.9 rwhp and 75.9 lbft Thanks!

Well, if it were stock vs stock, the R1 should win. Now if it were mod for mod, R1 again. But not knowing what all is done to the R1, or your bike, there is no way to tell.

Wow, did it really? Wonder what its at now since my mods. I need to get a pc3 for it to optimize the mods i've done. I put in a gytr filter, gytr velocity stacks, slip ons, and gutted the cat. Plus, its got a new 05 motor in it. Don't know if there ae any actual differences in motor though.

Probably tweaked dyno.
Seriously, most 954's are good for 129-132 RWHP.A full Arata with a good map will give you about 10 more.

If you are drag racing, a 600 with a good rider would beat a Busa with a bad rider.

If you go from a roll, the R1 will walk you.

I dig 954's, hard to ride and that high tail, fun bikes.

I actually bought the bike with all this done. I thought that was a little high as well but i know some shops pad their #'s. Do yall think that is accurate?
