5-8-06: BIG RKC Monday Night Meet: RICHARDSON

The largest and most diverse weekly car-owners meet in DFW!

TONIGHTS MEET WILL BE CANCELLED IF THEIR IS RAIN FALLING, OR ON THE GROUND. HEAVY THUNDERSTROMS ARE PREDICTED THIS AFTERNOON/EVENING. PLEASE BE CAREFUL AND SAFE!

While I work out the kinks with this meet, we tonight will NOT be able to be in the "SAFECO" parking lot. I have a meeting with the owner of Safeco scheduled, but have not yet been able to meet with them. They have heard FALSE allegations of "Street Racing" INSIDE of the parking lot, and are also not aware that RKC is a bonded and insured organization. This does not mean the end of the meet, as parking is avaliable to the LEFT and RIGHT of humperdinks, kondos & kondos, furniture pad, etc... just not safeco for this ONE week. Please help me out this week with this guys, if we get to have the meet at all, it could be WET!

Dont miss our 3rd week at the the RKC MONDAY NIGHT MEET location, Humperdinks of RIchardson. Parking is just behind the resturant across the street, and all of the perks will be ready for you and your friends to take advantage of! Food, Cars, Fun, its all here! You have seen and heard how big this meet is, now come out and see it in person!

I am still working on LAST weeks video, im sorry im very behind!!

The new meet is at HUMPERDINKS in RICHARDSON from 8:30 to 11:30pm, but the bar and restaurant is open until 1:45am. They have a huge out-door patio, and the entire main dining room is RESERVED for US every Monday night from now on after 10pm. It is very nice, the food is amazing, and extremely affordable thanks to the special meet food specials, which include 50% hamburgers and 15% off any other item as well as DRINK SPECIALS!

The meet rules are the same as the old location, and the much more aggressive Richardson police will be attending this meet to keep order. We have an understanding that we are for the most part very well behaved in the parking lot(s), and they will be there to assist me deal with ANY trouble makers.

You mean after 10 specials. Most people I know eat before 10pm and as far as the meet fucked up. It's the type of people you attract. Highschool kids can't drink and sure as hell can't afford a 7 dollar Hamburger. I really think what you are doing is great but there needs to be a controlled enviroment, don't ask me how cuz I don't know.

There really isn't anything else we can do while having such a big meet other then charging to get in so we can pay cops to keep people in check. (which of course wouldn't work)

We will have the event insurance VERY soon and that will hopefully help the events be alot more legit in the eyes of the owners of the lots we are using.

I went out there tonight for a little bit. I was probably one of the oldest people there, and I'm 28. A couple of cool vehicles, but a lot of ricers were present. I do have to say that when I went to highschool the girls did not look that good.

Talking about the asshat in the black one? That dumbass decided to "show off" while leaving, not even knowing that Richardson PD was about 150 feet away watching him do it. I also saw a pretty large girl lean into his car and smooch on him. Still trying to figure out how he gets her in and out of the door.

I applaud the efforts being put forth to get this GTG running smoothly. This is just my 'two cents' so take it for what it is worth. I moved here from LA last year and we had a very successful weekly meet during the summer months. The key was that every person paid $3 to park their car on the lot. This provided some revenue to get the 'event insurance' that you are speaking about. Of course rates will fluctuate drastically depending on the area but I know that this organization was paying about $8000.00 total policy premium for a weekly meet on Saturday nights from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The small amount of money charged insured that only people who were really interested in showing there cars came out. Since it was not a free 'hang out', the crowd was a good mix of enthusiasts. I think the insurance would also make the owners of the property comfortable with allowing the lot to be used. Good Luck!

You are talking about LA dude, this is Texas, I dont know anyone who would pay to go to a hang out at night. It is a good idea though, might run off some of the crappy cars, which would be about 75% of them.

Yah we can't charge people. If we started charging people they would except there to be trophies, and prizes and other BS. While that would be a cool direction to take it we really don't want too do that kind of thing EVERY week...(maybe once every few months in the future thou)<o></o>

The main thing we would really like is to have some $$ to get security but that is not cheap if you have ever looked at hiring a officer for at least 4 hours + they have to have so many per how large the crowd is. Pretty much impossible for us to be able to afford that and put on a free event.

you guys would be better off moving the meet AWAY from the city. Its only going to get worse and become more inconvenient to get in and out at the present location. It doesn't matter where you have the meet, if its in a busy part of the city, it wont last long.
