Hello guys. I figured I would give this a shot. I am going to school in Waco and haven't had any luck finding a part time job. I have applied at 60 plus places and can hardly get an interview. I have a high mechanical aptitude, I have an assciate degree in automotive tech and going to school for electrical systems and instrumentation. I can work evenings and some weekends. If anyone has any ideas I am all ears.

when i lived there 93-98 i worked at ups in the evenings. 4:30-9:30pm. made enough to and go to georges every night.

I have applied but a tornado pretty much destroyed their local distribution center saturday so I imagine they won't be hiring new people till they get back up to full capacity.

Well I started the application process with UPS. Apperently they are needing people. I went out there for a tour and got a call today with an invite to fill out the application and consent for a background check. He said they are looking to start me as soon as next week if the b.c. comes back clean. So we will see if he is serious or just blowing smoke.
The schedule is good mon- fri 6 to 10 or 11., 8.50 hr, full benies after 90 days and 1 week vacation after a year. All for part time.

sounds like a solid part time gig for sure!!!! benefits are the important part, but the easy schedule and 1 week vacation after a year is sweet too.

The only guy I have met out there is a black guy named greg, he is the evening manager. I just like the fact of no weekends. I will still get to head down to Austin and see my girlfriend. We will see how it goes.

Well they just had me fill out all the pre emplyment paperwork, W-4, emergency contact, agree not to steal or play grab ass so on and so forth. He said everything was looking good and he will get with me Monday and get things wrapped up. Not getting my hopes up yet but its going forward.
