So. it seems a buddy of mine from work bought a zippo tuesday night. We discovered there was no fluid in it. Went out, bought a big thing of fluid, came home, and sat down to fill it.I must have spilled some liquid on my hand and leg. I picked up the zippo, struck it, and my hand lit up, i immediately let go, and the next thing i know, th bottle that we used to fill it is laying down, and a stream of fire is shooting toward my foot.


Then the fun began.........it went something like......WAHHHHHH! F! F! F! F I'm on fire!

Instead of grabbing the cloth next to me and putting the fire out, i ran for my door, just kind of like an aimless blazing rock em sock robot. my friend is yelling "Stop drop and roll," and trying to catch me......and im having nothing to do with it..

Finally, i realize....i'm really burning up here, and maybe i should listen to this dude, and i let him catch me, and put me out. First words out of my mouth: chill out dude, i;m ok. dude's totally freaking out, telling me to seek water ASAP, and im like...nah, i jsut need a drink. about midway thru my sangria i realize that there's no skin on the outside on my ankle...prob from the ankle bone, about 4 inches up, 2-3 inches wide. this is when i decided to go to the water. i turn on my outside water, send him to cvs for ointment and spray. 5 minutes later, i convince myself im just beinga bitch, and need to stop. i lihgt a cigarette, get my large glass o sangria, and then it hits me,,,,,,,just terrible, terrible pain. i start freaking out, to the point of, i can feel a hyperventilation happening. i pondered calling 911, but i was like.....nah, i dont neighbors gathering out here and seeing this show. so he gets back, i slap the cream on, and we jet off to the hospital. this is where i realize i have been horribly burned. i have no skin between my toes and ankle bone, on the left half, and the skin i do have, is 3 large blisters. and on the way to the hospital, what do i here? The wedding singer, adam sandler: "Oh somebody kill me please,
somebody kill me plee-ase,
I'm on my knees,
pretty pretty please kill me.

I want to die.

they got me in, calmed me down, put me in some water, and starting applying darbacet by injection, followed by phenegrin....which F'ing hurt......two shots of that, and i was feeling little pain. this was at 3 am. 6 am, they tell me, they are cutting me over to parkland........1/5 hrs alter, i tell em, we'll jus drive. went over to parkland, and they dont know who i am. wont even give me a wheel chair...im hobbling all over this freaking bureacratic mess pussing, in pain...for a good hr before giving up. back to ft worth baylor, where they apologize profusely, and greet me with a shot of mporiphine....which was just oh so dandy, i couldnt stop thanking them. fortunately, my wife and kiddoes are in vegas, so the kiddoes havent seen any of this nastineess........2nd degree burns all over my left foot and ankle, missing a lot of skin, and minor burns on my right hand. fortunately, it didnt touch my achille's tendon or bottom of my foot, so i can stil lwalk...though it;'s quite painful.


so, dont go filling up zippoes when you've had a beer or two. not a fun way to get out of work. on the good side, ive been able to reduce my dvr from 94% full to 74% in a few days. jsut finished the last 3 ephispodes of "taken," and have ewatched about 1/2 a dozen x-filed, mixed with top gun and officer and a gentleman for good measure. a big bottle of coke, and a bottle of vicodein have become my new best friends......and next friday, i get to drive to panama city beach...wont that be fun!!!!!

Personally, I don't know Hook em. I've never met him and only had brief conversations with him on this website.
