My dad was in a motorcycle accident a bumper fell off a wrecker and he ran over it and was thrown off the bike. The wrecker company came over and offered him $400 to just drop it and fix his bike. According to Suzuki there is way more then $400 worth of damage. Would you just stop messing with the wrecker company and just contact their insurance?

DUH! Of course they are trying to offer you $400 to shut up. Obviously - that is NOT in your father's best interest. Insurance should be contacted, a claim should be filed, and they should handle all damages and medical expenses, if any.

Wrecker companies are complete crooks.
I would sue the shit out of them for something like that ( even if it wasn't their fault) just so they would know I wasn't fucking around in the slightest.
I had a wrecker t-bone me intentionally once, and they were the biggest dicks about paying for it. This was before road rage was coined, but it was a life lesson for me.
If it were me, I'd ask my daughter to hop on here and ask everyone else's opinion.

You may want to check out the law books on this one. I believe Texas has some bullshit law about debris falling off an automobile. I think if it hits the ground first they are not liable by law. I am not certain, but my agent was telling me about this. I had a empty box tied down in the back of my truck. It blew out and hit a lady's side mirror. My agent was asking if the box hit the ground first for this reason. I did the right thing and paid out of pocket on the damage. You may want to check into it. Hope your dad is ok. Bike wrecks suck big time.

even if the wreckers insurance doesn't pay for it, your dads might. mine has something about "falling objects and missiles". it cracks me up whenever i get my renewal and see that. its not like we're in israel.

last spring I had a wrecker driver make a sudden lane change sideswiping me and forcing me off of 35. Ripped the mirror off my door, caved in the fiberglass, scraped up the side of my car from the front wheel all the way to the back of the door, blew out one tire and caused suspension damage. I had multiple witnesses stop and I took pictures galore of the skidmarks, my car, the truck, etc. The driver was rude as hell, didnt have current tags on the truck, didnt have a commercial license, and gave me an expired insurance card. It took a few heated calls to the owner of the company and their insurance company but when push came to shove they repaired my car. I would pursue it.

They've got nothing to lose by low-balling and being dicks about it, definitely fight it.

Considering how high Suzuki parts are, there is not way it only did 400.00 in damage. Get a lawyer.
