I was just wondering how many people that ride motorcycles from this board, actually have a M endorsement on their license?

You just missed a sweet thread about this a week ago or so.:) But, for the record, I took the MSF course, got my "M" license the next day, then bought all of my gear before I even had a bike.

Speaking of gear I need to go buy a new helmet and jacket.

i dont have a bike as of now, but sooner or later i will get one. What happens if you get pulled over and dont have a class m license? What kinda ticket can you get?

I have been told they can give you a very steep ticket and even impound the bike. I am sure someone else on here can clarify.

Jail time, bike towed, no class M endorsement ticket. Could be a few hundred bucks and a night in the slammer, plus whatever you were pulled over for in the first place. Even if you don't have a bike but know that you want to get one, you can go take the course since they provide the bikes, then take your certificate of completion to the driver's license office, take the written portion(which will be on a computer), and voila', you are legal to ride once you get your bike, and save money on insurance. BUT, what do I know.

What have you been getting pulled over for? 99% of the time I ride fully legit, current tags, plate not hidden, etc, and I don't seem to get pulled-over NEAR as often as some of y'all do!

I've heard more than one story of people getting their bikes impounded/towed, them getting a ticket, and going to jail!

my buddy has received 3 or 4 in the last few years, most of them on his dirtbike on the street.. but yeah they've never done more than cite him and send him on his way.
i'd still be leary, regardless.

I took the MSF class and got my Class M within the following week. It wasn't worth it for me riding without it with the chance of getting caught.

I went a year without one untill i moved. I got pulled over once comming back from dfw to greenville. Got a cool cop who just wanted to check out the bike becuase he was looking to get one. Btw i have no rear blinkers or tag light and my plate is tucked. I dont get any hassle but i dont really speed or do any stupid stuff. I have my m class now and have no worries besides the plate and blinkers.

Better to be safe than sorry... Just in case you ever do get one.
I've got mine. Bought my bike and gear before I had an M lic. But didn't ride until I was legal.Err.. I didn't ride outside of my neighborhood at least :o

Here in Corpus they are impounding bikes for those who do not have a motorcycle license, too much felony evading going on down here. So you get a ticket for whatever they pull you over for + another for the license and have to pay $180 to get it out of the impound. If I recall someone with a motorcycle license must drive it off the lot or they will not release it too.

Yeah, I almost got one, but a guy on here decided at the last minute to not sell it when I was ON MY WAY to look at it. Never called to tell me either  Oh well.
Then I looked again not too long ago. But nothing yet.
The course was great to take. It was fun and saves on Ins. ;) I'm glad I took it.

It was just a starter bike. If I remember correctly it was a Ninja 500... just to learn on and get the hang of things. That way I wouldn't crash a nice looking bike when I was learning. :D
My brother and dad both ride... bikes have always been interesting to me.

I got arrested in 00 for no license right by my house. $85 ticket, $125 to get the bike out. In Dallas, they never even mentioned me not having it when they stopped me
The stop in 00, it was a little different, smallish town, bad cops, threatened my life, damaged my bike, tried to arrest me for stealing my own bike, despite having the title in my possession at the time of the stop!

I was only 5-5/5-6 when I started riding.
My 600RR sits fairly high, stock height, no rear lift yet, leathers & boots constrict my moment, with them on, I can't touch both feet flat now, not even close. I'm 5-8ish now.
