1990 DR 350, Me and a bud was changing the clutch discs and pull the clutch cover off. As soon as we pull the cover a bolt falls out, it falls out, it falls the fuck out. He picks it up and shows it to me. Me..........where did it come from? Him........no fucking clue. :( I do a quick scan and cannot determine it came from anywhere. Plus if it was in the crank case, surely it would have fucked something up. We put the clutch discs in and replace the cover. (all bolts in cover) I keep looking at the bolt, its clean and he found it on the frame. (frame is dirty) I say, take the damn cover back off. So we do. I check the cover and around the engine. Nothing, so we put the cover back on. (all the while I am scanning the clymer book like I am randomly going to find this fucking bolt in it.) Have all the bolts back in and low and behold, I find a pic of the fucking bolt. Take it back apart. (I'm getting good at it 3rd time around) Clymer labels the bolt as "special bolt" in the shifter mechanism. No fucking shit  It has a 10mm head on it and about a 6mm thread on it with a 1/2" bare shouder on it. In order to get the bolt in you have to take the basket for the clutch assy all the way the fuck out. Can not put the bolt in with it in place. In fucking possible.
Now you are thinking what I am, how the hell did it come out with out a mark on it. (clutch basket gear would have chewed the shit out of it.) I just assumed who ever was in there last left it out and loose. Who knows. I have no clue how tight to make this bolt. Long story short, put it back to gether and now I only have 1st and 2nd gears. :( All was good before then. What a day, :(
Its number 14 on the list. Labeled as "special bolt" ( that part not shown)
