C.J. Wilson blows.
That pretty much sums it up for this game. That and Milwood continues to get shafted by lack of run support.
Not sure, Shouse is on the DL so I can't blame him. Young didn't blow it with crappy defense. R.A. Dickey is a good long reliever and he's in the minors. Should have put Alfonseca in first.
I don't think Wilson sucks, he's just a little young and needs some experience.

Eh, you've got to give them more credit than that...
I do find it interesting that they seem to play better when on the road than at home...

I'll tell you what happened. The offense fizzled, and Wilson had an ERA of 27.0 for the game. You should never lose a game if you hold the other team to less than 4 runs. Never. You can score once every 3 innings and win like that. They're way, way, way, way, waaaaay too inconsistent; their pitching and their hitting don't seem to show up on the same day nearly enough.Who are the Rangers?"I play for the Indians."
"Here, in Cleveland? I didn't know we even had a team."

I don't think Wilson sucks. He was doing good....and almost had the last strikeout but didn't get the call on a check swing. After that he made a few mistakes and paid for them. Millwood didn't get any run support...but he also only lasted 5 innings cause he was up to 100 pitches and had walked 6.

True...true. I do think if Millwood could have had a better game, the outcome would have been different...

Cordero blew another save tonight but Blalock bails out the Rangers in the bottom of the ninth.

Holy Jesus. No lead is safe for the Rangers until Cordero either snaps out of it, or the Rangers start looking for a new closer. Its a long season though, so I'm sure for now, they are just trying to see if he can work through it. Being a Rangers fan, I hope he does.
Good to see the bats back tonight.

No shit.We can't wait around for him to snap out of it.At this point, move Otsuka into the closer role and pitch Cordero and Alfonseca as the set-up men until he gains his composure.Or pitch him in mop-up innings till he comes around. You can lose a division real fast early in the season.

x4. Cordero is really pissing me off. If he doesn't pull out of it within a month, JD needs to make another trade or put Otsuka in as the closer(or both). He's been pitching very well lately. Without Cordero's blown saves, the Rangers could be 14-7 now...very respectable. For now, they're just a mediocre 11-10.

Way to go! The bullpen gets another win (after blowing the lead, again)!

I like your idea better, Hopefully the OTHER Buck reads this board and puts that into action. I havent caught alot of Rangers games this season but Otsuka looked pretty damn solid tonight.

Haha. It's gay that Cordero ends up with a win after that piss poor showing. I guess thats what can happens when youre playing at home.
Thats almost as gay as the Clippers sandbagging to the 6th seed and gaining home court advantage and well as a weaker team for their efforts.

The GAYEST part about it...is when you're in a fantasy league and Coco blows a save...and instead of getting points for a save...the person who has him gets points for the win. Haha...but seriously, he needs to get his shit together or someone else needs to take over. I don't like how the coaching staff basically says it is his job and he can't lose it because he is their closer regardless. And Traxx, Otsuka has been solid pretty much every time he's pitched...and if anyone doesn't believe that...he closed for the world champions, dammit!

On a side note....Hank coming through with the clutch hit to bail him out was great. I'm so glad he's off to a good start. By far my favorite player on the team.
Cordero is tied for the team lead in wins:)

When a closer starts getting wins, there's problems.

Not if he comes in the top of the ninth with a tied game and the bases loaded. Too bad he usually comes in with a 3 run lead and can't hold it.

Either way, it shows that there's problems. A lead should be established by that time and a closer comes in to retire the side without incident. Cordero's cases are worst-case-scenario for a closer and still coming away with a win. Our offense won't always be able to bail him out.
