Hey guys i have a 97cobra. My question is how do you clean the factory alternator? I know i could buy a chrome one but ide like to just clean the factory one. :D

you can take the casing off and go get it powdercoated

If simple green don't clean it...nothing will. Just be careful, those are not made to be soaked down with water.

At least not while they are connected to your electrical system...
I've had great success cleaning alternator housings (with alternator off the car of course) by using Simple Green, then taking a brillo pad (theres bound to be one in the kitchen:D ), wearing gloves, and scrubbing continuously...the abrasive brillo pad takes off dirt, and usually leaves the natural aluminum natural...
Then again, I've disassembled alternators, transferred their guts to shiny chrome plated housings and pulleys too...
