View Full Version : Going a different route.....
Well after countless hours of stuff going through my mind I have decided to post barney up on ebay. I had a blast with the car but it's time for a change. You guys laugh all you want but the car really means alot to me. I'm sure some of you have the same feelings towards your car. So some of you might wonder whats next and I have two options and yes it will be a race car eventually. I'm not made of $$ so I'll be outta the racing scene for awhile. Here are my two options. 67 chevy II or a 69 camaro(I have one lined up that I like). I'll post up what I get when it gets delivered.
Here are some pics for ppl that don't know my car.

Well that sucks. Barney is bad ass. How come it has to be such a drastic change? Tired of the mustang game? Good luck on the new ride and build.
Too many bills to keep all 3 of my cars. The cobra is gonna go to. I'm not selling the cobra for the new car but I want a new daily as well.

I had an '88 GT that I bought when I was in college. The car was only five years old at the time and I spent the next eight years making it my own (331, suspension, gears, blah, blah, blah). I ended up selling it in 2001 and always regretted it. I owed nothing on the car and it had countless hours of my own work wrapped up in it. I love the car I have now, but will always look back fondly on that one. Sorry to hear you have to sell it!

I guess it's time for this guy to move up to bigger, faster, and better things. It's the way of life. Get your money out of it before something happens and you cant.

Damn why would you sell Barney. I say go with the nova if you do end up selling it though

you can only fit a 9in tire max under a nova after you beat a little. anything else will require frame or susp. mods. The camaro will take a bigger tire with out mods

That is a pretty clean car and would be hard to replace it. I know, the grass is always greener......
I was just thinking the other day, if someone had enough cash, I'd sell my coupe. I need to step back and become a bolt-on bozo again. All this custom shit is getting old. It is real hard to do without the right tools and takes twice as long.
I never can find any races anymore.....so DD'ing a fast car is getting REAL old. I remember back in the old days, I would get in some sort of race once a week. Ahhh, the good old days when Mustangs were king of the street. Everyone had one.

I own both of the cars you want and I love the Nova over the Camaro. My Camaro is worth alot more money but thats the reason in getting rid of it and buying the Nova. I would love to keep both of my cars but the Wife isnt to happy about not having no where to park the G35.
I dropped the Camaro off at a location on Friday and before they even put a 4sale sign on it they had 3 promising buyers waiting. They havnt even listed it 4sale on the web page yet.
If you buy a Camaro you will get your money back plus some when you decide to get rid of it. My Camaro is expected to go around the 25G mark. They go up 25% a year in value. I know I will be kicking my self in the ass 5,10, 15 years down the road from now for selling it but I couldnt make a race car out of my car.
The Nova on the other hand is just a Nova, not a SS or anything special. I am not going to loose sleep over Mini tubbing a 15G car vs a 23G car.
Point is if your going to do it as investment buy th Camaro, if you want to build a "race car" buy the Nova.

Yep same here, I want to sell the 86 as well, just to pay off all my bills, but in a year or so when I am debt free anyway, I am going to look back and be like what the fuck was I thinking?
Sorry about the sale Jason, I'd buy it from you cash money if I didn't just buy my Cobra. :( I love that car...

you'll regret it, but what are you gonna do, drive that mustang till the day you die?
unless you're made of money, you have to sell beloved vehicles to start new projects... I wish I had every car I ever built... that's the way this hobby goes!
sell it, build you a nova that you'll regret selling later ;)
