LMFAO, you said dominance. you better hope that O line can keep bomar off his ass this year. and i'm not trying to be funny either cause that seems to be there main concern this year.

I think the Sooners will be really good in the coming years. I equate Bob S. to Bobby B. down in Florida every couple of years they have a not so good season and every few years they make it back to the big dance. I see the Sooners as a strong program not a shot in the dark.

they have made a few decent pick ups in the offseason & added a nice juco transfer, I imagine/hope they will be just fine.

Dont worry BlueThunder,
Most "Texas fans" here couldnt tell you who played for their team before the 2005 season, let alone have a true understanding of what this years football season will bring. Although there are several here who are fairly well educated and could consider themselves real fans...... they are few and far between. Its silly coments like Berts, that show me that there is no "substance" to the argument....just a mere dislike for a team.
Either way, the Red/white game will be boring as usuall. They will not show many formations, and will run 3-4 different Offensive/Defensive sets.
Now Im sure it is fresh in everyones memory that last year Oklahoma started a freshman QB, along with 4 Freshman Wide Receivers. It should be a fun year. Adrian Peterson will get some carries, but will also be a great decoy all season long.

here we go again  but i won't get into all of that. i was mainly typing that first sentence to get a rise out of people like you and HEY, it worked.
and should i start naming players like te Pat Fitzgerald making one handed catches in the first big12 title game or wr like michael adams that bombed in the nfl? OR Olineman like Blake Brockimyer(sp?) who didn't alow a single sack at the university? have i made my point yet? i might just know a LITTLE something about past players ;) and wait a minute, did i name someone from the great SWC. LOL @ me using great and swc in the same sentence.
so please, for the sake of agrueing, don't group me into the majority.

Couldnt agree with you more. Sounds like you are one of the educated.
But you also made a blanket statement about the 2005 Oklahoma Offensive line. You didnt make mention of the fact that while they were porrus at times, it was because they had 2 starters quit the team 2 days before the first game, and just threw together a group that had never played at their respective positions.
Its WAY too early to start arguing about this upcoming season, but it amazes me that some people dont see what is coming down the track from Norman, OK this season.
Good Luck, and God Bless

i know, that's why i mentioned it. i guess i was trying to see what y'all knew about the situation. i've just read and heard "rumors" that ou was still having issues. of course in the fall we all will know a little more about each team.
at the cotton bowl here is what i'm hoping for. Both QB's (ou and ut) don't make major mistakes and that both RB's (peterson and charles) are both healthy. cause i want to see a good game this year :D

The first Red River shootout I attended was in 1986, I think SVTVenom was still trying to step up from a sippy cup to a Scooby Doo bottle with a flew straw LOL. SVT you were like 3?LOL
I was visiting my older sister and brother in law here in Dallas. My brother in law was is 82 Sooner grad and the year I attended Bosworth all but mugged Texas with a gun, LOL. I had never really knew about the rivalry until that day when I saw how much my brother-in-law was into it. My sister had gladly given up her seat to me LOL, she never has been into big crowds and loud people. I was 14 that year and it was one of the reasons I wanted to move to this part of the country.
I later would become an Aggie and I still like the Sooners. My brother in law and I still attend the Cotton Bowl for the big game and the series now stands at 12-12-2 since I first attended. When I attend the shootout I wear my Aggie Maroon which is just fine with most Sooners because we have a common enemy and I pretty much color match, besides my brother still buys my ticket even if I object, LOL.

What you don't seem to get, is Sooners see you as just another Texas person, ie Longhorn. They hate all things Texas, including the Ags.

It sure did work against your Sooners and everyone else this past year. Its alot better than Rhett Bomar standing in the pocket getting pounded as seen in the .gif above.
I predict he'll be hit/sacked/down on the ground as much, if not more, in this year's RRS.

I'll challenge that prediction. Last year was really fugged up. Not sure if anyone remembers, but OU would break huddle, then change the play at the line like 70% of the time, Bomar was out of whack. Never seen OU do that before & they haven't since, very weird day.

Bomar did change plays at the line several times in that game, but not 70% of the time. He was overrated in HS and Stoops pinned his post-Jason White years on him. Bad decision. The only hope OU has is Peterson and they'll have to try and keep him healthy with that weak shoulder and ankle.
