Has he also resigned form the House?

I wonder if conservatives should call it a left wing conspiracy like Hillary called a right wing comnspiracy for us saying that Bill was lying about Monica. LOL

I've got a feeling that Ronnie Earle is the least of his worries.
Wait til they get to Abramoff's Florida murder conspiracy trial (unless it's already been bought)!

See ya "Hammer" :D !

They already played that card...nobody bought it!

Please give me details. Republicans would have to believe that more than one Democrat got together and thought up a plan other than "We hate Bush", and we know that hasn't happened in over a decade. LOL

I love it when a liberal defends a liar and supports the "right-wing conspiracy" theory crap but gets all giddy over a conservative screwing up. Can't you see your hypocrisy when you don't call for crooked liberals to be ousted when they lie or steal? I have not seen one conservative defend Delay, assuming he is guilty of a crime, much less a possible presidential candidate from the party.

Everyone should defend Delay's right to be considered innocent until proven guilty, just like Hillary should have before but not after Bill was found to be a liar.

Ronnie Earle does this to all his political enemies. He did it to conservative Democrats. He did it — and he does it to Republicans. And particularly in my case, he did it in conjunction and working with the Democrat leadership here in Washington, D.C.

- Tom Delay

Are you trying to say Delay is claiming a left wing cospiracy and that he is not guilty of anything like Hillary claimed with Bill and Monica?

Because that is what I was asking for details about.

Don't know, they haven't tried the DeLay case yet. But it is Tom DeLay's assertion at this point that he is not guilty of anything and it was all a left wing conspriracy.

Rather odd that he won the primary overwhelmingly and decided not to compete in November (and resigned on top of that!) When I was driving through Clear Lake/Kemah/etc last month it was apparent by the policitcal signage Tom DeLay has mucho support in his district. I don't think he'd have much trouble getting re-elected so he must be concerned with what would come out in the campaign of his democratic opponent.

Have you seen or heard Delay or his people actually claim it was a left wing conspiracy? I have seen a few recent interviews and I did not hear that at all, but I have not seen every interview.

I heard speculation he did not want to give Dems ammunition in the upcoming elections to use against hotly contesated seats. That may explain why he did not run again where he obviously could have been re-elected. It may also be that he knows he screwed up and is going to be convicted.

Did you read the quote from him?

In particular...

"And particularly in my case, he did it in conjunction and working with the Democrat leadership here in Washington, D.C."

This would be the definition of conspriracy. Conspiring is acting in harmony toward a common end. In this case, DeLay thinks the DA on his office but the entire Democratic leadership in Washington DC (which, I doubt, is a party to the case.)

In effect he is saying he is against trumped up charges which were, in part, developed by senior Democratic leadership.

The quote came from him on the program Situation Room which appeared on CNN last September.

Obviously I did not see the 2x4, thanks for hitting me with it. LOL

I see the connection now, but it is still a little different than what Hillary did IMO. She didn't insinuate a conspiracy, she flat out said there was one when none existed.

I do have to give DeLay some credit...

"Cynthia McKinney is a racist. She has a long history of racism. Everything is racism with her. This is incredible arrogance, and -- that sometimes hits these members of congress, but especially Cynthia McKinney"

One day after announcing he would resign this summer from Congress, former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Texas, said he's prepared to file an ethics charge against Rep. Cynthia McKinney, who is under investigation for allegedly assaulting a Capitol Police officer who asked the Georgia Democrat for identification.

"If somebody else doesn't file an ethics charge, I will," DeLay said on Rush Limbaugh's radio show this afternoon. "I am going to defend these Capitol Police. ... They are incredibly professional and courageous, and I am not going to let this happen."
