Hacking my work computer?

They made it so you cant look at any websites other than the company web page. If I install(if itll let me) another browser like fire fox will it let me go to other pages?

since it is more than likely a network security program running on the servers ill say no. your browser will not be able to get around that regardless of which you are using since it is a filter program running directly off the server/router.

Is there anything I can do to get arond it? Im obviously not an expert at hacking so it would have to not be very difficult

aside from actualy going in and playing with the router, which im guessing you cant do, no. not that i know of, but im no hacking expert or anything i just know a little bit about networking from my Cisco classes back in HS

I wouldn't install it until after you verified there is a SEPERATE wireless network, not the one your building is using, or you will get the same filters.

I'd be careful if you care at all about your job.

If you signed off on a policy for acceptable computer/internet use then you are playing with fire. Anything you do on your work pc can be tracked, controlled, and logged.

It is just a matter of time before you get caught.

Computers are mixed enviroments, there isnt a fix all for everything. IMO, if my work blocked web browsing, I'd find somewhere else to work.

Even if he did not sign the agreement/disclaimer they can terminate him probably.

If there is a will there is a way, but posting on here likely won't get you the details you need to know. Also, given your level of networking/security experience I'd just forget about it. Your best bet is to see if there is a wireless connection you can snake and use a personal laptop for it.

Have you checked for proxy settings? Have you done any traceroutes to see if you can get to the server you're trying to goto? also try using telnet to make a connection to port 80 on the server you're trying to goto, this will help determine if a firewall is blocking it or if they have some kinda web content filter.

You also might try and dump the Administrator password has to your computer and upload it to plain-text.info and have it cracked, once you have it cracked then login as Administrator and see if you get more access. One word on this though, DONT take the easy route and just change the Admin password, this will get you fired faster than shit when they try and login to your box to do updates.

If that doesnt get you more info then the next thing you want to do is figure out what your domain controllers are and try and login with your admin password to those and see if that gets you more web access. If not then its no big deal, check through the hosts that are logged into the domain controller for any thing that looks like a proxy server or a content filter, the admin password will probably work on those as well so login and try and add your host to the "access to everything" rule.

If that doesnt work out for you then flip through the company directory and try and find a network admin, once you find a network admin go back to the domain controller and see what box he's logged in on, then login with your admin password to the machine he's on, disable the antivirus and throw a key logger on it. Once you steal his network passwords then check around on his box for some info to some kinda firewall box like a pix, then login to that and see if you can find any kinda rule sets that are limiting you from hitting the internet. If not then figure out what the local router is and setup your own route to bypass all the bullshit and go straight to the net.

If you're to lazy to do this then I can also recommend a great proxy script that will let you surf to one site then out to the internet through the script.

Why do people not get that if you are on a corporate computer/network they have the right to control and restrict access as they see fit and can log, track, monitor, prove anything you are doing?

If you doubt that just ask any of the people I've investigated and gotten terminated for not following company computer/internet usage guidelines. :cool:

My work doesn't block much, but they do block sites like astalavista.box.sk.

To get around it, I RDP back to my home PC and surf from there. As long as your company isn't blocking port 3389, you can do it.
