I have the following instructions, with regards of formatting a Mac:

To low-level format a hard drive using Drive Setup, follow these steps:
Start by selecting the hard drive you wish to low-level format.
Under the Function menu select Initialization Options…
Select Low Level Format (a check mark will appear) and click OK.
Click Initialize at the bottom of the main screen.
Again click Initialize.
After doing this, what state will it be in? Will I need to supply an OS, or will the OS be left intact? If I lreave it in this state, will it detract in value, if I'm selling this on eBay?

Thanks!

os will need to be reinstalled after the format. It wipes everything.
