Or know of anyone that is? I've got a Compaq that I need to remove the HD from and wipe clean (computer won't power up) before I sell it off on eBay for parts and now my HP's left mouse button isn't working properly. I'm sure it just need to be taken apart and have some spring or something set back in right. Anyone on the board work on laptops?

Usually laptops have a small caddy which the drive sits in. You can remove a screw or two and slide the drive out. Then using a 2.5 to 3.5 in adapter you can put it into any desktop computer to format the drive. You could also use an external 2.5in hard drive enclosure.
I can do it for you if you don't want to.

The Compaq does not have any kind of HD bay :( I think my HP does but not the Compaq. Dammit  I've never taken apart a laptop before but I guess since I'm going to sell it for parts it doesn't really matter how it goes back together :D
Any ideas on someone on the board that can take a look at my HP's touch pad button? I hate using the mouse although it does making navigating easier it's more cumbersome than the touch pad.

Have you checked the user manual for it. The drive has to be accessible. Typically all it takes to work on a laptop is a small set of screwdrivers and a static strap. Remove the battery and other power sources prior to doing any work on it though.
