my 360 wont connect to xbox live so it told me to run a connection test, network adapter is fine, ip address is confirmed, DNS confirmed, but when it gets to MTU it failed...what the hell is MTU and how do i fix it?

MTU=maximum transmission unit. Have to get into the router to fix it, assuming your box isn't directly connected to the modem.

You need to surf on over to the modem manufacturer's website and see how to adjust it, if it is indeed possible.

Have you tried unplugging your modem's power for a couple a minutes and plugging it back in?

this should do the trick. whenever i have ANY internet or XBL problems the first thing i do is power cycle the modem+router.

lol! if you call the cable company, this is the first thing they're gonna tell you to do. I have friends who've called because they couldn't figure this out.

hey Fred you play Halo2 any, if so send me a friends request. I think I figured out my probelm. (i think). I went to my routers website and updated it. So far its hasn't gave me any problems.

Thats weird I had those kinda problems on my old X box, when that happened to me I would call the X box 1-800 number and they would guide me through the whole connecting process and get it running right. No problems yet with my 360 connecting online, just wish more people had a 360, so could them online. my user id is the same as it is on dfwstangs.

da prez50, ive got it fixed, i just swapped my crappy motorola modem to my other linksys modem and it works like a charm...brandon i play madden 06, need for speed most wanted, and mostly call of duty...never even had halo...
