Man faces death over Christianity
From: Reuters By Sayed Salahuddin in Kabul
March 19, 2006
A MAN detained by police for converting from Islam to Christianity could face the death penalty if he refused to become a Muslim again, an Afghani judge said today.

Islamic sharia law proposes the death sentence for Muslims who abandon the religion. Afghanistan's new constitution says "no law can be contrary to the sacred religion of Islam".

Supreme Court judge Ansarullah Mawlavizada said the suspect, Abdur Rahman, was arrested after members of his family informed police of his conversion.

He would be charged with abandoning Islam, Mr Mawlavizada said.

"We are not against any particular religion in the world. But in Afghanistan, this sort of thing is against the law," the judge said. "It is an attack on Islam."

What isn't an attack on islam? Their only answer to any challenge is voilence and murder.

We had Americans go over to save their sorry country and have our military guys spill their blood there, so these third-world back-water hecks can kill people that they don't agree with.

Where are the moderate muslims?!

Posts like these are the best testament for the seperation of church & state. If Pakistan, Afghanistan, etc had secular governments, even a monarchy, the Muslim church would have no real power.

Yep, more good things from that part of the world. It is nice to know things have changed there.
