its a pretty simple decision right? its driving me crazy! im tired of the mustang and wanna give up on it plus i have been missing out on some great riding time lately. i cant decide to keep the stang or to get rid of her. if i part it out and sell it as a roller then i could easily afford the bike i want. thing is tho just the thought of selling it gives me an empty feeling.
the mustang is currently torn down b/c of the valve that broke and tore up the motor. it will take a block, heads, and piston. i figure that its gonna cost around $2k to fix it whereas the bike i want is only a $3k investment. the bike is stock, decent mileage, and should have stock reliability. what should i do?

01 or newer F4i
I cant dog an F4 though...they are good bikes...I just never was too crazy about em. I like the good ole F3....but thats just me. 3 grand aint too bad...but I would look around for a while because you might find an EFI model for around the same price if you look hard.

insurance on it for me is $250+ a month depending on the year of the bike. i will most likely have to take a loan if i try to keep the car or if the bike is over about $4500. with a payment and insurance thats around $450+ a month. thats a little higher than what i wanna pay and could probably afford.
with the f4 i could do a 12 month note @ $260 and full coverage insurance is only $97/ month from Progressive. this is why i have settled on this bike.
bike has been pretty well cared for. my friend is the 2nd owner and bought it with 8k miles on it early last year. now it has 12k miles on it, but the down side is that its been to 3 or 4 track days. hopefully it wasnt thrashed while it was there! he was riding in level 2 with it.

Surprisingly enough Kyle, I voted for the bike. Just be careful, and watch for idiots. And DAMN man, you need to check on insurance more... mine was ~$525 a YEAR
I say get the bike. But I hope you have a 2nd car. Cuz riding in the rain sucks. Besides the car needs work and a bike will be ready to ride. And this is the best riding time of the year.

You'll have more fun with the bike. Try to get something newer though unless that 99 is super clean.

Don't worry, he also has a pretty nice '97(?) Acura CL for a daily driver.

I know that the insurance is stupid expensive. did you have liability only, if not what was your coverage? my quote was with full coverage.
those your only 2 choices?
for now yes these are my only two choices. if i could sell the stang for the $3k that i think its worth i would be willing to take out another $3k and buy a newer bike. for now though this meets my budget with the addition of a monthly bike payment + insurance.
Keep the car and buy the bike!!
this would be ideal but if i was to sell the car and by just the F4 i would own it free and clear with liability only insurance. this would be the cheapest option and i would hopefully still come away with money in my pocket. although the thought of selling it does and does not appeal to me for different reasons.
