I just want to see what kind of response I can get out of this. I am a member of a mission team that is going to Nicaragua, and we are having different fund raisers to help aid the cost of the trip. One of the fund raisers is the collection of old cell phones. If any one would like to donate any old cell phones, or any funds in general, please do. For more info about this trip, the mission team, the fund raisers, or the church supporting us, please go to www.thevinefellowship.com and check it out. Thank you!

There is no excuse and no reason to have hunger and homeless people here. We are the richest and most powerful nation in the world...those who are hunger and homeless do so at there own device, help is all-around...jobs are all around...white and black people stand on the corner looking for handouts and that is all...addicted to drugs and alchohol...etc...while a mexican (who came here from an other country) will stand on the corner and look for work to provide for his family...
Other country's like the one above do not have the means as we do...they are a product of coruption and other circumstances that are out of there control...they do not have the means or a way to pull themselves out. Mission trips bring the Gospel to these people, help them to get on their feet, and sustain life...
So I ask you White Trash Wagon...what are you doing, or what have you ever done to help the homless and hunger in this country...or for that matter any other?

Well lets see:
I contribute $3000-$5000 per year to Goodwill in the form of clothing, electronics and other goods.
I contributed $1000 to the International Red Cross after the Tsunami
I contributed $1000 to the American Red Cross after Katrina
I personally delivered a truckload of food(that I bought) to Reunion Arena when Katrina evacuees began arriving
I walked 60 miles in 3 days during the "Breast cancer 3 day" in 2002 and 2005, and raised a total of $6000.
I've contributed, on average, $4000 per year to my wife's church.
I've work many a Saturday at the CCA food pantry in Lewsiville.

Thanks for your question Scott. Check out the site and you can see what we do and who we support. Does it really matter what country people are from when it comes to helping out, cause it would cost a whole lot more money to bring all those children over here to the U.S.A.?

By the way Scott, It is awesome that you have looked past your own needs and have contributed so much to those in need. Please keep up the great work. It really is an awesome thing.

Well, when you donate, your allowed to deduct from your taxes at retail. And most of what I've done for charity was my wife's idea, so thank her, I was just along for the ride.

We just had our mission sunday worship today. Our church supports several people that work in hostile areas of the world for christians trying to reach the unchurched. One guy ended up in prison for a couple months last year for preaching about Jesus in Vietnam.

We have found out that the phones do not need to have batteries. So for those of you that have phones without batteries, please send them to us.
Thanks.

This might not effect you but for future phone gathering projects.
I am not sure of the day, but I think on Earth Day, Nokia and Cingular are going to annouce a take back program, to be better evironmentally aware companies and be a recycle point for phones and accessories.
