View Full Version : Format for the Cruise - revisited!

Ok - it's that time again. The cruise is getting closer and closer. I need suggestions for what you'd LIKE to see at this cruise.
The most popular by far is KODFWS - King of DFWStangs - Unlimited rules as requested last time. Pro Tree first to the line wins.
The second will probably be some sort of bracket race so there is something for everyone.
We have room for only 3classes - NO MORE!
The rest of the day will be for TNT and grudge races.
I'm open for suggestions - let's here them. We have till March 13th to make final decisions.
This time we will most likely mandate a minum post count of something like 100-200 to keep someone from joining the forum, making a few posts and coming to "claim" a trophy -after all this is intended for "contributing" members!

Minimum post count? Should be based by the join date if you think about it. Someone could join now and easily get a hundred posts by the crusie date if they wanted.
Is this for fords only; or can us chevy guys get in on it.

i didnt bother to read all the posts so if its been said, my bad. but what about a King of the street. as in only cars diven to the track not "street" cars that showed up on a trailer.
I'm gona be on my bike so none of these classes really matter to me but it was an idea

If you dont like it dont come,i for one love the bracket deal because i know im not as fast as most but i can run the same time over and over all day.Its all about competition and claiming rights,you might be faster but i am a better driver than you.I will win this years bracket and i hope that LTD comes so i can send him home a loser!Oh yea and Txstang1 is going down too. :cool:

I really don't like all the imports that race at the Cruise because I know most of them are not DFWstangs members and they just found out about our event and decided to go and race.. I saw people driving through the water box that should have.. Even though there wasn't too many there were those few and it pulled water where it didn't belong.

Hey dumbass, just because I dont like bracket racing doesnt mean I wont come out for the other stuff and grudge matches :rolleyes: I just think its boring to watch it. Hell ive bracket raced before, its ok just not my thing. Just to make it interesting to watch this year I will bet you $40 that you dont win (minimum 20 people). Its not that big of a deal I was just saying it is boring to me. i would much rather see you run txstang in a grudge match than watch you try to run down a 12 sec fucking LTD :rolleyes:

King of DFW stangs street (like what was mention before current tags, inspection and drove to the track) I know its easy to get the tags and inspection but oh well.
Brackets ( must be 9.0 or faster, no electronics)
then the rest is test/tune and grudge matchs.
I know everyone will bitch about the bracket class. But the thing is we are not working with alot of time here so we just can't have 5-6 classes. Plus it will be just like every year, bracket will out # any class thats ever held by dfwstangs ;) It might suck to watch but its cool to race in IMO.

Whats up with the name calling,i just stated my opinion like you did.I am not trying to be rude but i am very good at bracket racing and kind of take it personal when when someone talks shit about me because i like it.I wish i had the funds to be as fast as some of these guys but unfortunatly i have too many prioritys to deal with first,so i just stick with what i got for now.Didnt mean to offend you or anything,just simply said if you dont like it dont come or dont watch it,if you got the balls to do it then bring it.I might not win but i have plenty of people on here that might put there money on me. :D

Well, the truth of the matter is, I joined this site before I new a thing about the cruise. I was just looking for a street race. I think we all know how that worked out on this site. As soon as I mentioned that I could run 5.50's on pump gas, several people started talking smack, and flat out calling me a liar. It came out that the cruise would be the place for me to prove it, so that's just what I did. Like I have said before, I didn't show up expecting to win the show. I just wanted to put down some mid 5 second runs on Chevron 93 to help the shit talking idiots realize that they were just shit talking idiots.
But yeah, I did back up my mouth, and got me a little trophie to boot. ;)
I am on here quite a bit, but I don't see too many threads that I'm inclined to make a post in. This talk of a heads up class for the street cars kinda grabs my interest though. If it plays out where I can enter a car in this class, I just might do that. The performance of my street car is much more impressive than my race car. I have never had it to the track, but I have a feeling it would hold its own. I guess we won't get to find out though, because I don't post up much in here.

Agreed with the maximum dial-in time; if someone dials higher than the max then they get the max. Should weed out the LTD guys.

I don't post alot. Most of the post are like some bullshit post anyway. Like: nice. cool, lol, ect. if I have something to add I will. Otherwise I like to read. I go to some of the GTG at sonic, Redline almost everyweekend. Don't limit me to the post I make. Maybe to the join date? I am looking forward to the cruise this year. I could not make it last year. :eek:

Don't count your chickens before the eggs hatch. I've been known to cut some .00X lights in a 5 speed car. And the car is fairly consistent even though it's a stick.:D

The reason I have my car on a trailer is so if I break I can get home. Also I would lend my Truck/ trailer if someone else broke. My car is not a trailer queen, more of a track whore. It is street legal and taged/ inspected, but 17 years old. Don't hate on someone w/a trailer unless your going to give me a ride home. :mad:

imnot hating. its just that getting an inspection sticker is a lot easier than it should be and registration is simple. if you wana bring a trailer do like i did when mine broke the week before the spring cruise last year. i drove the car out there with a buddy driving the truck and trailer and brought my daily on the trailer. the car ended up breaking like i thought it might, so i drove the daily home.
or really a better way to do it i guess would be how about everyone needs valid inspection, registration and insurance? since if it doesnt have insurance it doesnt belong on the street anyway
