Most people that visit car websites understand that the term "cam only" means nothing else has been done to internals of the motor.No head work, nothing to boost compression, etc. And that a "cam only" LS1 normally has all the bolt on stuff and no power adder. If you didnt know, now you do. :)

It must not be too crappy of a platform if you can do bolt-ons, a cam, and run in the 6's on motor ALL THE TIME. DMC's car has been doing this for years now, its not a fluke..as have lots of other people. Just give credit were credit is due.

You could add nice flowing heads to DMC's car to match the combo you just said, and then what would it run??? We could "what-if" forever...fact is they run badass :cool:

I lined up with two different coupes on Sunday that were built. Both were driven to the the track just like mine, and running motor only. They both ran well. But that "way better platform" wasnt good enough ;)

Well, since LS1's aren't 20k anymore....lets not use that EXCUSE. You can pickup a stock Automatic Ls1 for 6-8k now....which if you look, is about the going rate for a nice coupe in the same condition. So why even bring price up???

And for the turbo mustang guys, think about the money you spend on the top end of your motor an LSX guy can put in his lower end you both add boost and the LSX motor will come out on top with its stock heads and cam.

It takes me about 7 min to change plugs in any ls based vehicle and if you don't believe me bring some $$$ and I will prove it to ya..... and as far as a turbo set up goes the Ls based motors will do fine as long you prep them and set them up with enough fuel and spark...just like any other car.

I tell you what,find a NA mustang that is bonestock and add a cam and exhaust and converter and lets see it run 6's.Wont happen.Period.I have had two new fors,a 2002 Explorer and a 2003 Ford Windstar and love both but when it comes to racing i would rather have Chevy.Hell my blazer weights 3450lbs has a stock piston and lower end with a little cam and vortec heads and runs 7.90,s on motor and 7.40's on a 100 shot.Cant beat those Vortec heads.

Second time left in 2nd pulled a bike length out and he was not making up any ground. Beware of a Red Ls1ss, thats all Im sayin.

Very ignorant and untrue comment actually the LT1 is a way stronger motor than the LS1, it's a cast iron block with aluminum heads, versus an all aluminum block with the LS1....there are several killer LT1's in Dallas the reason people switched to the LS1 is because it makes much more power with way less money it's a better designed motor with much better heads and potential, the short block LT1 is the same basic design of the original small block chevy it only changes in a few minor things...

My car would trap best of 107 on a good day. R1's Gixxer 1Ks Busas all trap between 112-116

I leave Redline one night with some juice left in the go bottle. Line up next to all three bikes mentioned on 30....Laid about 4 car lenghts on them until I ran out of gear. On motor, they'd put 2 bike lenghts on me. On juice i took up 2 lanes on the freeway when id hit it until i clicked high gear and it would quit hazing the street tires... :eek:

Very ignorant and untrue comment actually the LT1 is a way stronger motor than the LS1, it's a cast iron block with aluminum heads, versus an all aluminum block with the LS1....there are several killer LT1's in Dallas the reason people switched to the LS1 is because it makes much more power with way less money it's a better designed motor with much better heads and potential, the short block LT1 is the same basic design of the original small block chevy it only changes in a few minor things...

Yep, I was told last night through a friend of the guy it made 449 before the ls6 heads with a 6 speed. If thats true or not I dont know, like I said first time to see the car and second time to meet the owner. I just happen to be the one that got to drive. :D

Id walk your 600 on motor...600s were breakfast 750s gave a better run liters would edge me out. On bottle it wasnt even funny seeing the looks through the guys visors :) Priceless. Specially for a car that looked like a V6 :)

I never ran the car on slicks on motor, but on Dr's it ran 7.1@ 98 mph. Catch me from a 60 roll on your bike and your ass is toast.

I used to ride an R6. One of the faster ones around for the 00 year model. It ran a best of 6.7X @ 105 with a strap, and one tooth down sprocket in the front. no can, stock exhaust etc. high 1.5 60's on a stock tire. Get on the bike on the 50 roll and my car would get jumped out on and then walk past it at 80-90 mph.

What kind of bike is it? I know my car might not run with some of the newer 600's from a low roll with out bottle. It weighs 3450 with me in it!

One thing I do know is Ill blow that bike off the road from a dig or a roll on bottle.
