Seahawks had the ball first and looked good, but the protection broke down on that last 3rd down sack. We'll see how Big Ben does now.

I don't think its them being too conservative. I think its them just playing like crap. They didn't have a first down till 19 min. into the game.
Thats a pretty stout bet you made. Don't think its gonna work for ya though.

I dont think they will. They aren't up enough to do like their previous games. Start running the ball. I think Seattle is going to make a couple adjustments and finish strong. Pitt has done nothing! One lucky catch and a bullshit TD.

Well I should have figured you'd just bitch up and not commit on this game anyway. So now that Super Bowl is over and football season has come to an end I guess you'll be rooting for the basketball team? No, I actually quit at the beginning of my jr year. Offseason was pretty intense, and it was a political situation....meaning two sport athletes were frowned upon by our head football coach. Esp if you wanted help in your recruitment process. Offseason was actually worse than boot. 2 weeks of burn outs (20-30% of your max), 3 sets of 2 minutes (it would get to a point where u couldnt lift the bar....totally sucked. when i say the bar, i mean, just the bar.....your spotter would move weight off as you hit the wall) followed by a week off, remaxing, two weeks of burnouts, week off, max, repeat. And for the record, I played center, sometimes PF. And I've been rooting for the basketball team....you've just been avoiding the sports board ever since you figured out how bad VagTech was, and good good Texas is.
I did return to basketball at the Irving Y a few years back, and my best friend and I took a scratch team 13-0 the first year, and the next year, didnt lose until the championship game. The next year, we moved to 10 and under as well....but that wasnt as fun as the little ones.
Any more questions?
As to the "bitch up" comment....I havent watched a Seahawk game, nor a Pitt game all year, minus the one involving Dallas. Why would I place a bet on a game between two teams I have no personal knowledge of? Where is the logic behind that?

You didn't even watch the game, did you?
That would have made it 4th down, and they would have most likely kicked the 3.
As to the knee down in the MNC game, that would have been a 1st down, VY would have scored anyway, and USC wouldnt have had time for their field goal, so no, it isn't remotely like the knee down no call.
Why do you even mention that game? Good God....can you stop living vicariously thru other teams? You're the biggest bandwagonner on this site. When was the last time aggy was even FAVORED over Texas in ANY sporting event? 1998, 96ish?

Overall, I think it showed a pattern that did effect the game. Any one of the bad calls wouldn't have decided the game but when you pile on three or four bad ones at critical times, it adds up... like one great big buzz kill...
Thats why I like playoff hockey... unless someone is bleeding, the refs let'em play...

The play before that was a manufactured holding. Instead of Seattle getting 3-7 points, Pitt gets 7, a swing of 10-14 points. So no, the call the post is referencing didn't influence the outcome, but couple that in with the made up push off call, the no touchdown, and it made a big difference.

02-06-2006, 09:40 AM
The Seahawks got robbed of that game when they gave Roethlisberger the BS touchdown. It was plain as day the ball never broke the plain. I guess the refs had a Vegas bet on that game as well. And the other mistake made from the BJ was to flag Seattle for a PI when the other dude was all over him, both penatlies should have offset the other and that should have been a earned TD. the score should have resulted in...17-14 Seahawks.
Not a fan of either team, but right is right. :o

02-06-2006, 10:16 AM
It was plain as day the ball never broke the plain. Bullshit. I don't think he made it in either, BUT - there has to be CONCLUSIVE evidence to overturn the call on the field. The way he was holding the ball, you couldn't see if/when it crossed. So no matter what call was made on the field, it would have to stand since there wasn't any film that would overturn it.
That was the LAMEST football game I've seen in a long time. It was SO boring and it was pathetic to watch the better team get beaten with half-ass calls and stupid penalties. The push-off was questionable, was the defender even in a position to make a play on the ball?
Anyways, I was rooting for the Steelers, but that was a truly ugly victory. I think Roethlisberger was disappointed with his gameplay, and he should be.
