Yeah that thing is cool. I'm not willing to splurge 300+ bones for a keyboard though.

O man ..that is bad arse.... $300 bucks though : ( ...

Hopefully it'll be more in the sub $200, closer to $150ish range. I could justify that for something that pimp. $300 would be a bit much though... but I'd gladly wait for it to come down in price :)

Great looking keyboard and features, but I wonder how much it cost.

Let me get this right, when you go to a game the default keys in the game will show up on the keyboard? On top of that if you wanna type in a diff language the keys will change to it?

Yes :)
This is a gamers, graphic designers, and multi-linguists wet dream. All the keys are programmable. Don't like the QWERTY layout? Make your own. Keys can even be set up like macros, and carry out pre-defined tasks if you wish.
The only concern I have, is battery life, since it's wireless. I would hope they'd make it rechargable, rather than using AA (or whatever) batteries. I can just imagine with each key being an oled screen how insanely quick it could suck batteries dry. My Logitec DiNovo lasts about 6 months on one set of AA's... but there's absolutely no led's on it. No caps-lock, or num-lock indicators, so unless I'm actually pressing a key it's for all intents off.
On the flipside, this Optimus would be on all the time (though the keys being turned off in "touch type" mode would help), and not just powering 2 small led's, but 100+ small screens. Stick a decent rechargable battery in there, so it's good for say a week of normal useage, and a base station that's not too cumbersome, and you'd have a real winner.
Needless to say, I'm gonna be showing the site off at work. The photoshop keys are neat and all, but what'd really be trick is being able to switch languages, as we do a lot of design work with different languages, Russian, and Japanese being the two major pissers ... I imagine Hiragana and Katakana at least, wouldn't be a problem for this keyboard, but Kanji and it's roughly 2000 symbols... might present a problem... but surely could be done by various key combos, switching groups with the "task launcher" buttons, and utilizing all keys (numbers, and F's included) to get a full 100+ characters per key combo/group
I think we each need one in the art department. Or two. You know... backup. *waves hand jedi style* "You don't see me taking this keyboard out to my car..."

Well how on earth are you supposed to know what your typing in Russian, unless you already know it? IDK, it seems like it would be badass and helpful for gamers, but I know if I had one it wouldn't be used to it's full potential.

We have stuff translated, then we take those translations and use 'em. I don't know shit about russian :) This keyboard would just speed up the time it takes to incorporate the translations, as I wouldn't have to "hunt & peck" through the character map for the needed letters, and switching back and forth between Illustrator/Photoshop and the character map. Illustrator CS (and maybe Photoshop as well, but most of my text is done in Illustrator so I've never checked in Photoshop) added an internal character map which has helped speed things up a LOT, but still pretty time consuming.
And Japanese... holy crap. I can spend hours just trying to find one freaking kanji symbol. It's rediculous.

ya battery life would be a issue ...to bad you cant just make it usb ....also wonder if you could make a screen saver for it ..like a pic of a chic winking at u ;p .... and wonder what would happen if a key light went out

I would imagine that's the icon for eMule or maybe eDonkey. [Edit] Yep, going to the eMule homepage, the icon that shows up on the tab and in the address bar is the same one on that keyboard.
And yeah, since the keyboard is going to be released with the SDK and an app to program all the keys, I'd imagine it won't be long before we start seeing some "keysavers" :)

Well you said you can edit the keys when you order it, so when you order it, if your not gonna use certain things, you could just leave it blank and program it to something you want right?
