Texas World Speedway in College Station has high speed driving schools about once a month. For around $250, you and your car get about 300 miles on the track over the weekend.

Now that TMS has their roadcourse, hopefully they will start doing the same thing. Motorsports Ranch is good, too, if you can get in.

Hallet would be a better bet for you then. They have play days where damn near anyone with anything can get on the track. BTW there is something going on at TWS almost every weekend between SCCA the many motorcycle leagues, Vintage, Porsche club, BMW club, Viper and Vette clubs...I am leaving a lot out too.

You need to get in touch with Jordan Musser. I know he has driven his car at TWS with a bunch of other street cars. You could probably get on the track by yourself, but you either would have to break in or spend big bucks. There are lots of other people like you too. Shit happens, but for the most part people don't want to damage their daily drivers or high dollar toys that double as street cars. You will probably be on the track with a bunch of other street cars and everything will be alright.

IMO, these guys are are the best for newbies. In car instructors, plenty of seat time. about 20 to 25 cars on track at a time- depending on the track.

I've driven with them for almost 5 years and if anyone gets out of line, there out. Period. It's all fun until someone bends a fender, so they watch for nuts.

It's not timed for insurance reasons. You -can- have a bud with a watch time you.

TWS is probably the best track to learn on- plenty of runoff room for mistakes and a real fun course to drive. MSR is a little shorter but is getting some addition to the track to make it just a little longer. TWS's roadcouse is more like an autox. The DFW Audi guys have rented it for May 3 and may be looking to fill some seats.

Driver's Edge is at TWS this weekend. I couldn't get my crap together in time to go. DAMMIT!!

They will run MSR April 20/21. I'll be running that one...
