I just got my first HDTV that actually has an ATSC tuner in it.. and I have a question.

What does it mean when I get a message on my tv saying 'channel locked out'?? Everytime primetime (hd)tv comes on I get this message and no picture? Do I need a better antenna or something?

Im an hdtv noob

It might be that the tuner doesn't support the "broadcast flag", which basically means the network can opt to block content from being displayed that they want to "protect" from "piracy".

Yay for DRM and how it's enriching our lives, yah?

:( It's a brand new TV.. just released in December. But either way that sucks... I guess I will stick to obtaining HD content through the interweb and watching it with XBMC

You may have the child lock or whatever on the TV on. Check and make sure there are no factory locks on the TV. It sounds more like that's the case.

I will check this out! I have not jacked with any of it.. but after looking at the manual it looks like it is setup by default. I will disable it and see what happens tomorrow night :D

just so you know, comcast has a really good HD lineup of channels including all the locals in hd so you could lose the antenna if you wanted..........
