Alright got into a convo w/a supposed comp guru out at the base. He said your comp runs faster and easier if you install the updates for your board. If the comp runs fine already, why would you need to update it? Would there in fact be in any way a noticeable change in performance afterwards?

If it is running fine, than don't change anything.

Tell him that it causes an ID-ten-T error.

Nah I've had to worry with that more with server hardware but even then you have to keep it all the same and update drivers in the appropriate order at least with Dell.
I usually try and put the latest bios on a box before I load the OS but afterwards unless you need it to support newer hardware or features there really isnt a need.

Well i went to the site and a lot of the shit you can dl to update your comp, it says in big fuggin letters " do no update unless there is a problem" or something along those lines. well the guy does know what he's doin, he walked me through on what to do in my BIOS on a few things. Just everytime i run into him he keeps askin if i've updated my board yet and i tell him no. Then he tells me it will help and yadda yadda.
