Ok i started off with CORSAIR XMS 512MB DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit System. One of the slabs went out and i was running on 1 slab of the 256. I didnt see that it has a life time warranty.
Speed DDR 400 (PC 3200)
Timing 2-3-3-6 settings on intel platforms,
2-3-3-6 settings on AMD platforms.
Voltage 2.6V
ECC No

and i bought OCZ EL Platinum Revision 2 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit System Memory
Speed DDR 400 (PC 3200)
Cas Latency 2
Timing 2-2-2-5
Voltage 2.75V
ECC No

Well i sent in the 2 sticks to get replaced for free and when they get back im gonna stick them in with the OCZ that is currently in is there something i should change once i put them in or keep it all the way it is?? Im a newb with ram settings and timings. Is it bad or doesnt matter becasue of the speed of both is 400? Can someone help me out?

You can probably run with nothing changed but the OCZ memory will be held back by the timings that the Corsair was running. If the timings are set to Auto your motherboard may try to set them to the OCZ specs which could cause problems with the Corsair. I would download and run memtest86 once you get them in and see how the stability is. I would sell the Corsair and either just run the OCZ at the tightest timings or get another set of the OCZ Platinum. This ram will overclock very well at tight timings and give you superior transfer rates.
