Hey, I have been working out at least 3 times a week ever since the final semester of my senior year in highschool (I just got done with my first semester of college at TX State) and I have been notcing that I have got HUGE strectch marks on my shoulders. Like where your shoulder connects w/ your torso. Its prolly about 6 or 7 inches long. I have them on both shoulders and they don't hurt or anything they are just somewhat unsightly. Anybody have any tips or creams or something to reduce them? I dunno if I want to continue lifting if this keeps on happening. Also, does anybody know why this is happening? I assume its becuase I'm getting bigger....

As a woman who gave birth to a GIGANTIC child, i can say stretch marks NEVER go away. BUt since you dont seem to have many, try MEDERMA. It works wonders. It can be quite costly if you have a whole bunch as it comes in a lil tube.
but it should help minimize them a lot.
good luck!

cocoa butter will keep them from getting worse.

It's actually that your probably working yourself pretty hard in the gym first, and getting bigger second. I guess the 2 go hand in hand. Once you have it, it wont go away. The purpose of Cocoa butter is to prevent them, but it actually doesnt, it might help a tiny tiny bit, but it's just basically how your skin reacts to growth, but cocoa butter now wont help, it'll just be a waste of your time. I've dated a few girls who had children and they've had a couple on their hips etc. Dont know if you do this or not, but start taning.....it helps reduce the appearance.

As usual, you are completely clueless.

Rub cocoa butter and vitamin E on the stretch marks to minimize their visibility. You mention college, so you are probably still pretty young and pliable, most of it will go away if you keep the skin hydrated. As we get older though, our skin loses it's elasticity, and it can be harder to prevent and repair stretch marks.

Ok moron........if you would have read, I clearly said cocoa butter will help but a tiny tiny bit. I hate to tell you this wonderboy.......but if a girl has stretch marks and cocoa butter minimized their visibility, then EVERYONE would be buying it. I already said......it's how "Your" skin reacts to growth. I'm with a girl now who has a 2 year old and not one single stretch mark. Ive dated girls who dont have kids, who have them on their hips.

EVERYONE but you does buy it, because it does work. Find me a single example of someone that took Vitamin E (orally and topically), and applied cocoa butter, that didn't have positive results... Again talking about something you know nothing about.

Stretch marks have little to do with anabolic steroids, nor will they go away once you cycle off without proper skin therapy.

Once again you've accomplished showing your ignorance. I've said twice already......it will help a tiny tinny bit, but it wont make them go away all together.........if you think that, then you're a f_ckin moron!!!!

I never said that it would make them go away completely. It does help, and people do use it. Period.

Eating protein powder isn't going to make me huge, does that mean that it isn't effective or necessary? Seriously, go away.

WTF  I already said it would help a tiny bit, and you're correcting me. Unless it makes them go away all together..........then there's no correction needed. Pay attention

This is what I'm correcting, because you are essentially telling the guy not to bother, which is bad advice.

The purpose of Cocoa butter is to prevent them, but it actually doesnt, it might help a tiny tiny bit, but it's just basically how your skin reacts to growth, but cocoa butter now wont help, it'll just be a waste of your time.

Cocoa butter helps more than "a tiny tiny bit", and is also beneficial after the fact to help keep the skin moist and pliable, as it repairs itself. Add vitamin E and they will all but disappear. The cells in the human bdy are constantly changing and renewing, and every little bit counts, just like staying out of the sun. Tanning may hide the marks, but it also damages the tissue, and makes it less likely that they will heal.

Ok, I stand corrected about the cocoa butter barely working.

Now, if this guy continues to work out like he does, he's wasting his time by trying to make them disappear. I should have stated it like that, so that it would be read differently.

Pregnant women use cocoa butter during/after pregnancy but they dont plan on having their skin stretched until their next child, unlike this guy who works out daily, so therefore, unless he stops working out so hard.........they wont go away....

It's not about making them disappear, it's about minimizing the damage along the way. That's like saying that an athlete shouldn't supplement EFA's to help alleviate lactic acid build up in the muscles as long as they continue to work out, because if they keep working out, they are going to continue to create lactic acid in the muscles.

Oh yeah, about working out allt he time.... I used tow ork out 4x a week in the summer. Then it dropped to 2 times a week this past semester. But for the past month and a half I barely do pushups and sit ups. And even w/ the pushups (no more than 30 a day) I am starting to develop new strech marks.

Oh yeah, thanks for the help. Know where I can buy any of these products?
