Can your other computer see the internet and everything?
yea, I can surf the net no problem. On main pc, I pick a folder I want to share, then I choose the share/security option and check share this folder. I go to my laptop, and search for workgroups, it finds it but when I double click on it, it says something about permissions. That's where my problem is at. I don't remember exactly what it says, I'm out of town now, when I get back I'll put up a screen shot.

Disable any firewalls or security applications. For example Norton's Internet Security won't allow those kinds of connections from other computers by default. If you can see the other computer and connect to it after disabling those programs then you'll know where your problem is.

Make sure that both computer are in the same workgroup. You can also try putting in the ip address of the machine you are trying to connect to. Just do Start->Run then type the ip address in quotes, like this "//192.168.2.1"

Since you live in an APT, Make sure you are connected to YOUR router.
lol HUNT.........yea it's my router.
Yea, I finally fixed it. Troys, thanks for pointing me to right direction.
In my norton firewall, under the network tap, the IP address that was listed did not match my router IP. Don't know how that happened. I went thu the wizard on norton and it found the IP address of my router. I just removed the one that was incorrect. I guess it was put on there when I first installed norton. I'm able to share files now.
thanks for help ya!

Seriously. I remember when I used to go to my brothers apt, he hacked like 50 niggaz wireless internet. When I am downloading something important like a dvd, I use someones else internet in my hood.
That's some funny shit, cuz my bro did the same thing, where he used to live, but people there didn't have any security, he'd just click on an unsecured conn. and surf.
He thought he could do that here where I live, everybody is secured.
