This has been a good arguement around here for a while, Pac-10 v. Big XII.

Oregon is 10-1, only loss to USC. I just don't see OU having a chance.

Don't be surprised if OU keeps it close and possibly wins. Remember, if it weren't for the phantom TD against Tech, OU would be on like a 7 game win streak. Besides, after watching Arizona St. last night, I'm not impressed with anything PAC 10 right now besides USC.

If Peterson is healthy and runs I think OU will roll, I dont believe the Pac 10 to be a very strong conference. Remember what happenned to 4th ranked Cal against Tech in their bowl game last year?

1. Ducks QB Clemens has been out since late Oct (Clemens started against USC earlier in the year and OU is going to be their biggest test since USC.
2. Rebuilding year for OU and after dropping 3 in the first five they came back and and one 5 of 6 (probably should have been 6 of 6 without some questionable calls in the Tech game)
3. Sooners averaged 33 pts in the last 5 games.
4. Peterson broke 100 yds in the last 4
5. Bomar was 60% in the last three.
6. OUs quick defense should play well against Oregon's spread (OU is 4th in sacks) and is a much better defense then other Oregon opponents like Washington State and Oregon State

I also took them at +3.5 for the same reasons. I agree that they may even win straight up. Anyone got an opinion on Miami/LSU? That's the game I can't make up my mind on. Both teams play good D and neither offense is spectacular. I just don't see how Miami can cover 7.5, but ...

I like OU's chances. Oregon's ranking reminds me of Tech's when they played UT, very inflated. Peterson has had a month to rest & I think he will come out on fire, just like he closed regular season play. Bomar & his young receivers have been on the same page lately as well.

i dont know about that. i think oregon had OU on the ropes there untill that AMAZING pick. Stoops should have come out and said at the end-game interview that he got lucky. It was the athleticism of one of his kids and not his brilliant playcalling that saved the day. I can not believe the final two drives or oregon.

i agree the pac10 as a whole is overrated. but don't discount the trojans. i too would love nothing more than to see texas pull it off, but these trojans have played in the pac10 the last two years and look what's happened.

By that estimation Oregon shouldn't have needed to have OU on the ropes, they should have KO'ed them early on. At least the BCS people weren't fooled by this sham of a team. I can't even imagine if they would have played the likes of Ohio St. or Penn. St. It would have gotten ugly!

Well while I agree that Oregon was not the #6 team in the nation, I also believe OU is a better team than to be unranked. OU has gained steam though the year but when you have all the losses early in the year, you are not going to get the ranking. I think what we just saw was a good game against two teams that are/were realistically somewhere between 10-15 in the rankings.

Umm, yeah, they had OU on the ropes right. Were you not watching the game? OU gave them a gift when Peterson fumbled on the goal line. Oregon was COMING FROM BEHIND which is a lot different than having someone on the ropes. Besides, Oregon got another gift from the refs when that pass to the corner of the end zone was ruled catchable. Give me a break. OU flat out beat them, and don't even start this crap about Oregon wasn't really into since they got left out of the BCS. They should've learned their lesson from Cal last year. If you want the BCS to notice, start winning when it matters.

Peterson did not have a huge game but the Pac-10 is a weak conference and as someone previously said, the big 12 is not that bad, Texas is just that good
