Well now that I got alittle extra money hear to spend on the bike I figure this first thing to buy is frame sliders. I was looking at ebay and I see the prices go all the way from like $30-$130. Whats is the difference? Do I really need the $100 frame slider or will the $40 work just fine? Cause my thinking is once you lay down the bike more than likely you will need to replace the slider after that no matter which one you buy am I correct on that?

If there are big difference let me know and if there are ones I need to stay away from let me know. Cause there are 100's of different sliders out there.

I have the frame sliders from suzuki on my 05 Gsxr and they cost about $80, so far i have dropped my bike about 4 or 5 and had no problems yet. My freind has some vortex frame sliders with cost about $40 and one broke off from a 10 mph fall. Just go all out and put a cage on it.

holy crap you sure u should be riding lol...

Go with race sliders ....most time you will have to cut a small hole for them in your fairing ...but it is worth it ..they will bolt to the frame .... also do not get metal sliders....

I got mine installed at the dealer when i picked up the bike. my paper work says they were $70 plus install. im not sure what brand they are but you wont have to cut a hole for them. I heard that the derelin(sp?) ones are better but they wear down much faster. and like DFWminis said, dont get the metal ones. the whole point is for them to absorb the impact and the metal ones are just gona transfer it straight to the frame.

If you really want a better solution, go w/ one of the newest gen FI cages, they are slim profile, have replacable, components, and are meant to crash.

Sliders don't do a whole lot of good, and yes, always get delrin what ever you do, never metal.

The frame sliders saved my bike, I dumped it going around 30 and have 0 plastic damage.

mine look to be the $80ish dollar ones (they were on the bike when i got it)

wow, that would be the 1st time I've ever heard of sliders saving plastics from damage. Were they 6" long or so? longer?

thanks guys

I really don't think I need a cage, I really don't do in serious riding. I know most wrecks happen from other cars on the road.

But who all on here actually has a cage on there bike?

I did for a while. The FI cages are pretty slim, don't get in the way of your knee's, and don't look bad either IMO.

but how much do they usually run? I have never even look up the prices to cages.

I wouldn't get a cage if you wanted to hit twisties! The metal frame sliders will catch to and send your piece flipping.

well tell you the truth, I don't plan on hitting no twisites or do any stunting. I just like crusin around on it. Maybe slap the throttle around when I'm going straight and no traffic ;) but thats about it.
