Yes, I am not a Cowboys fan, but please enlighten me as to how the worst cover saftey in Football made the Pro Bowl?? Sure he can hit, and so can 90% of the players at his position, but he can not freaking cover anyone and has let his team down on countless occasions.
Someone please explain!.......

He's the best SS in the NFC and he's been a game changer...he's not all that great in Coverage but its basically a popularity Contest
Have you seen the Votes for Rookie of the year, it should be Odell Thurman or that MLB from Seattle...

Merriman doesnt get doubled teamed like Ware does.
This is Wares 1st year at Learning a new position basically, while Merriman has been playin it all at Maryland.
Merriman is going to be a good one, but i love Wares potential jsut as much.

Roy has actually had a pretty descent year in coverage compared to last year.. And hes a guy that can change a game by forcing a turnover by hitting you and making you fumble or just by gettin a pick

Roy is a guy who has missed tackle after tackle trying to lay the big hit. I don't even watch that many cowboy games and I see him bouncing off runners, (Tiki Barber, Larry Johnson). But the Pro Bowl has never been about who's the most deserving, it's about popularity, and Roy is the most popular safety in the NFC for the most part. Thats about it. His play is average at best.

Yea, he was standing there in the open field and Mcnabb drills him in the chest with the ball. Not an eagle player within 10 yards of him. It's not like he had to make a break on teh ball. I remember a Cowboy superbowl MVP who was nothing more than a spare getting two of those against the steelers. Doesn't make him a great player.
How did he win the Giants game for you?
Here's the recap. The Cowboys bailed themselves out of one jam when Roy Williams knocked the ball from rookie running back Brandon Jacobs just shy of the goal line with 1:18 left. However, that forced Bledsoe to take snaps practically in the end zone and he couldn't run out the clock. That gave Manning the ball with 52 yards and 52 seconds to go, leading to the tying score.
Bledsoe opened overtime by completing passes of 10, 13 and 26 yards. A pass interference penalty on Antonio Pierce gave Dallas another first down, then a third-down incompletion to Johnson left it up to Cortez.

Hey, Neil O'donnell hit James Washington right in the chest with those passes and no body was around him. He deserves the MVP for tricking the steelers' qb into him thinking that Washington was on his team. That was a pretty lame MVP award, even though they were game changing plays. Didn't he split it with Smith? I'm too lazy to look it up right now.
Oh, and being a Sooner, I'd vote for Roy. But his coverage in the first Washington game was less than poor.

well you are all missing the point I believe of what Roy Williams brings to the table. Obviously football analysis is not some peoples strong point here. Coming out of Oklahoma and even to this day people have said and continue to say, Roy's coverage skills are average on the best day.
Where Roy makes his mark at is up at the line of scrimmage....Blitzing and causing havoc in the run game and making the opposition QB look for Roy first instead of making reads. It was even said last year and before this year that the Cowboys needed to upgrade their CB and FS(Woodson injury) to let Roy do what he does best and that is play up close to the line of scrimmage.

Standing there? lol........He actually ran foward to intercept that pass where there was an eagle receiver about 3-4 yards from him. It's not Roys fault he read McNabb. Whoever said that players bounce off of Roy Williams probably doenst pay that great of attention. Also 90% of the Safetys or CBs do NOT hit like Roy Williams. Roy Williams will knock you out of your whole uniform!!! Theres only maybe 1 or 2 others that even compare and those are safetys and CBs . You should try watching a game or two. Most of the time his "big hit" doesn't level the running back. For you to sit there and say that you've never seen him bounce off a running back shows your ignorance, then again you've been great at that today.
And please tell me where you get your 90% stat? You are one of these dumbasses that simply makes up stats and throws out false opinions just to win an argument. You are looking like a real dumbass today.

He does hit harder than most, but he sure did get "punked" by Tennessee Titan's running back Chris Brown in 04' Pre-Season game at Texas Stadium. He hadn't been the same since... I've noticed that when he makes tackles lately, he goes for the ankles instead of the up high killer shots. He has made a career of making Lavernius Coles and Emmitt Smith his bitch, but lately he's been exposed. He would make a great weak-side linebacker in a 4-3 defense. He's a bit small for the 3-4, but could make up for it in his intangibles of getting to the quarterback.

Please tell me you're not going to agree that a cowl induction hood was designed to force cold air into the engine bay. BAAAAHAHAHAAAA
You dumbfuck-
A cowl induction hood IS designed to force cold air into an engine. Read some facts on why air is at a higher pressure at the windshield of a moving car than under its hood, and why all fluids/gases move from high pressure areas to low pressure. Here, I even did a search for you. :D :p http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=cowl+induction+high+pressure+base+windshi eld&ei=UTF-8&fl=0&xargs=0&pstart=1&fr=FP-tab-web-t&b=1
As for the football, I like Roy Williams a lot, but it's been a while since he knocked someone out of their helmet. But he did have a game winning interception for the win earlier this yearm (don't remember the game). It's highlights like that that get a player into the Pro Bowl. First of all you need to read page 7 in the Smackatorium because theres actually 2 ways a cowl hood work and I have 3 websites to back up my statements.
Now............I quoted this from the site you just posted.
The rearward facing scoop on the second-generation Trans Ams, however,
were
> minimally functional at best... and purely cosmetic at worst. The
location,
> elevation, and direction of the "scoop" all conspired to reduce its
> effectiveness considerably. They did "shake" whenever the engine was
> throttled, however, and DID LOOK pretty cool. I also question the
> effectiveness of the Mopar and Ford "Shaker" scoops of the same era. At
the
> very least, they did allow a cooler, denser charge of air into the engine,
> although it had to be sucked in rather than forced in by using nature's
> physics to accomplish the job.
>
Sooo..........the very last part of the statement........????
Let me run part of that by you before I leave work.
Ok the 70' Chevelle had a cowl induction hood. It had the tray that covered around the carb and yes, it pulled in cool air. It had to.........there was no other air available but from the hood. (That's not saying much)
Almost every hood after that was a non-functional cowl hood but it still helped the car. At high mph the nose of the car would normally float or lift but with the non-functional hoods it doesnt. Also you will have a high pressure area at the base of a windshield with a stock hood because the air is flowing right along the hood til it hits the windshield (Not rocket science). Now with the 2 1/2" rise or however high the rise is in the hood, you now have a "low pressure" area right behind the hood. (Makes sense right?) With the low pressure the heat now escapes that area vs. bringing in cool air.
Whoever said Roy Williams doesnt hit hard is blind!!!
46Tbird
12-28-2005, 04:10 PM
You seem to be confused on a lot of points, because you just described several different kinds of hoods, including a shaker hood (NOT cowl induction), a hood with a cowl opening (NOT cowl induction) and a hood that is sealed to ducting that runs from the cowl (IS cowl induction).
Two critical words are:
COWL
and
INDUCTION
:p
Keep typing all you want, you're not going to prove me or Smokey Yunick wrong. :D

There are more needs then the secondary..
I could see us going ILB or OLB depending on where we move Kevin Burnett.
O-Line will need to be addressed and a FS like Landry could fall to us in the 3rd

They can pick up guards in later rounds like 5th or 6th. They will have their pick from universities such as Michigan, Virginia Tech, Penn State, Wisconsin, Miami etc. for an offensive guard in the late rounds. Now if a "blue chip" offensive tackle is on the board, then yes you have to go there in the first round. But you could boost your defense for the next 3-5 seasons if you sure up that secondary.
