Found this link, its interesting. There's a poll on the page itself, outta 5,000 votes it's still stuck at 50/50. What are you alls opinions on this?

I'm kinda with the article somewhat, because you are talking about a full rostered NFL team going against up younger and obviousbly inexperienced on the NFL level players, but yes I think they could compete, might not win, but could hang.

Are you kidding me!!! USC is good, but only on a college level. To be even and a 53 man roster in the NFL is hard. I would say half of the USC players won't make the NFL. The media is something else.....

USC would get ass-raped by the worst team in the NFL.

lots of potential career ending injuries to some of USC's players would be realistic. Sure they are good, but even the worst NFL team is made up of the best college players in the country, it would be worse than what USC did to my Sooners last year. :(

Well it's not them worrying, just some writers eval of the team vs how some of the NFL teams this year are doing. I don't think they could win, but it'd still be cool to watch it.

Yeah I bet they will.....didn't think they were very good until they beat my OSU buckeyes in a close game.

That was a good game indeed. I want penn to win cause my bro think the the noles are the fuckin greatest ever. They used to dominate years ago, when you compare the coaches, the noles coach(can't remember his name and too lazy to look it up) actually has more wins than paterno does.

No college team could hang with any NFL team. Which means 50% of the voters in that poll are douche bags.

I with everyone that says USC would lose, and lose big time. If you take everything into consideration like coverage and blitz packages on defense, then the ability for offensive players to pick those up on the other side any NFL is leaps and bounds ahead of a college team.

Tell me one time that Texas struggle with team besides the Ohio st game which they were #4 at the time. How many games have USC struggle with. So tell me how is Texas overrated

There is bunch of schools I dont think they are overrated. The only 3 schools I thought were overrated were USC, VT, Texas Tech. Texas also played 2 top ten teams which one I thougt shouldnt have been there, but USC hasnt played anyone but ND which I believe they should have lost

I'm sure if you figured out how many players play college ball and how many play NFL you are looking at less than .05% of college players make it to the NFL. So even the worst players in the NFL are among the most elite of college.

A college team can be successful and still have large gapping holes in their program. You can't in the NFL. Even the suckiest team in the NFL can beat the best in the NFL on any given Sunday. While it appears there is a wide gap, the difference between the worst and best is very minute.

If you look at UT or USC out of their 60+ rosters how many are truly good enough to play in the NFL?

(0.05 / 100) = (x / 60) x = 0.03 players per team

Your sample size is wrong.

You forgot the 100s of college programs that will not send even one playa to the NFL.

ha thats why the % is accurate (from a guessing standpoint) and why the ppt (player per team) is so low. otherwise only like vince young's right foot would make it to the show.

True.

How many people on this board know that Mount Union College captured their record eigth Div III National Championship in football this year?

I can't believe no one posted about it. The game was attended by 4,619 fans at the 33rd annual Alonzo Stagg Bowl in Salem, Viginia. :D

They went 14-1 with their only loss to Ohio Northern. They beat: Washington U, John Carroll, Otterbein, Capital, Wilmington, Marietta, Baldwin-Wallace, Muskingum, Heidelberg, Mt. St. Joseph, Augustana, Capital (again), Rowan, UW-Whitewater.

That's about 900 players that will never touch the football in an NFL game.

Leinart would be picked every other series if he played against an NFL Secondary.

Tackles would get outplayed by NFL DE's..and RB's would have a hard time tryin to figure out who to block when they blitz.

That Nebraska team in the 90s would get beat by the nfl's worst team.
OU's 2000 team would get beat by the NFL's worst team...

Really? Your a fan of Mount Union College, let alone Div III college ball? I bet you knew all of this off the top of your head! I bet people might like you more if you stopped trying to show them how smart you are and how much money you make. BTW, no one posted about it because no one cares about div III football. It's amazing you get on to people for being UT homers and your posting about this! Please stop!

I have bet Div III's before. If you read the fucking post it had nothing to do a Div III school but the number of college football players as a percentage of NFL football players. Reading comprehension is your friend sonicboom.

The only reason I know about Mount Union College is because I had a cousin that was an All-American wrestler for them in the 80s.
